Linkable integrated LED lights could be good to run across the ceiling. Good lighting for working and recording videos.

Maybe get a garden shed for the riding and push mowers. Clears up more space.

Instead of a 30-amp outlet, install a 50-amp outlet that you could use for a larger RV, a welder, or an EV (friends with EVs?)... typically a NEMA 14-50R. For the 30-amp plug, just use that 50-30 adapter that you might already own. Make sure you get one of the better 50-amp outlets from Hubbell/Bryant, though, in case it gets used for EVs. Get a 60,000 btu gas garage heater, then you can keep your garage 40 degrees or warmer in the winter. Modine, Reznor or Lennox make decent ones.

30A outlet for sure... but add surge protection (or do a whole house surge protector!). Might as well paint the ceiling. Floor insulation. garage heater would be great (what do I know? I live in New Orleans!!! We get an inch of snow per decade! ). Flooring will help keep your tires from dry rotting. Vinyl? cheap laminate wood flooring?

Well, I would look at installing an attic elevator. All of your camping supplies that are kept in totes could be placed on the elevator platform and raised into the attic out of the the floor, creating space to move around. Makes it easier to place things in storage in attic space, much more safe than trying to push or pull them up the ladder. You have covered almost all other aspects of a fully functioning, well organized work space. I like the snap together flooring systems, easier on these old knees. Great ideas for cord management along with air hose management. All that is left to do is finding time to complete the tasks at hand. As always Thanks for taking us along. Good luck, Bless You Two, "may your road through life be flat, and the wind at your back".

Can’t really help you to much on your plans , your garage as is trumps my late 50s single car garage with strangely enough 10ft ceilings, so I do have a mezzanine shelf up high for storage and open floor below , but this is mostly a thankyou for all the great popup content, we are well seasoned popuppers but always pickup something extra from your channel , there have been dozens of popup channels I’ve watched but they always seem to move up to travel trailers after a year or two while you have stayed the course and are now considered a long running channel , keep up the great work you are a service to the popup community !!!

Not sure where you moved to, but definitely would have a heater installed for working on any project during the cold winter months. Also an epoxy floor covering and painted walls/ceiling would dress it up.

Excited to see what you come up with! You definitely need a Packers flag at the bare minimum. 😄 We don't even have a garage, so no tips here.

I would go with the gas heater with a remote thermostat. I like epoxy flooring because it does seal. Be cautious sometimes it can get slippery with water/ice. While you are insulating the doors make sure the door seals are in good repair. That includes the bottom of the door as well as on the exterior of the door where it meets the frame. I upgraded my electrical service which if possible I would recommend. Residential electrical service is usually carried through to the garage unless spec.'d differently. There stuff you probably knew already. Have fun.

Funny you brought up the seals. We just bought new seals for the doors and installed one so far. I’ll I can say is, it is not a fun job!

Swisstracks for the flooring would be nice and easy to install. They are pretty spendy though. Obsessed Garage KZbin channel talks about them a lot.

You'll love the retractable extension cord and air hose...I have both and I wish I had installed them sooner (even though I can't work on my pop-up renovation in my garage because I don't have enough height or space length-wise). I use the air hose on both cars and the electric extension cord reel when working around the garage. I haven't done my floor, but several of my neighbors have done the spray coat (it was advertised heavily a few years ago, including a Super Bowl ad), and it's proven to be easy to clean and held up well from what I've seen.

I would do an epoxy floor, with rubber mats for traction when wet! Bonus is it's super easy to clean, mats can be hosed off, etc. If I ever can redo a garage like this, I'd add a cargo elevator up into that attic space!

BTW, love you channel, thank you for your hard work! my suggestions, 30amp near the front to accommodate guest or power your camper setup outside (testing AC), gas heater or a mini split but that would be best with an insulated garage door, Free Flow RaceDeck tiles for the garage floor- Perfect DYI project, along with DYI acoustic panels on the ceiling, as mentioned= attic lift system for storage to keep garage free from clutter.

If you're going to heat the garage, avoid any kind of flooring that will go on top of the concrete. (click together, sheet vinyl, etc.) As you heat in the winter moisture will get caught under and can breed mold. I heat mine and had the foam anti fatigue mats down for a while and it was a mess underneath. Best bet is epoxy. Good luck and excited to see the progress.
@ItsPoppin
@ItsPoppin 2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, thanks for the data point! Do you think that would be an issue with interlocking tiles that are vented or have drainage?

@@ItsPoppin If there is some sort of air gap underneath it might not be an issue, but I don't know of anything off the top of my head that would have that and support the weight of vehicles/campers. I'm in MN and the temps plummet here. When you heat up the garage in the winter the humidity out there goes up. I do have a ceiling fan and run a box fan while I'm out there, and that helps but it's not perfect.

We have a single car garage (they claim it's a "2 car" but there's no way to do so comfortably) with a slightly over 8' ceiling we're looking to fix up for projects. This gives me some great ideas, especially the electrical extension cord idea. Check out the Trademan infrared heaters at Home Depot. I'm looking at getting one and hanging it from the ceiling to help. I've also seen them at Costco, but that's only in season.

How fun is it to back into the single stall? Do you push it in manually using a tongue dolly? I too have a 900 sq ft 3 car with a 1-2 door setup but backing into the 1 car side would put the camper door facing the wall. I've thought about trying a dolly but not tried one.
@ItsPoppin
@ItsPoppin 2 жыл бұрын
It’s tight, but not too terrible. It’s definitely easier with a spotter. I’ve been considering picking up an electric tongue dolly to move it in and out of the stall without having to hook it up to our tow vehicle, but they’re pretty pricey.

My suggestion is less pop-up camper specific and more of a recommendation for general garage space and support for your channel. I've found my mobile workbench invaluable, you clearly have tons of space for a permanent large bench, but having a smaller, portable, sturdy work surface that never has to "be in the way" is also quite valuable and worth the time investment. Steve Ramsey has a set of plans on his channel that I used for my own. There are at least a couple amateur videos of folks building from his set of plans if you search for "basic mobile workbench". Also, as a KZbinr, having some kind of camera support for your videos might be a good quality of life improvement. Fisher's Shop has a decent walkthrough of his basement workspace where he has an overhead camera rig, might be worth a view for inspiration in your own space. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX2Zp3Sdr5icbZY it's about 16:18 into the clip. A simpler aluminum option is probably commercially available though.

Wow that’s pretty impressive. I could see doing a more fixed version over the workbench for sure.
@AnimalCrackers5
@AnimalCrackers5 2 жыл бұрын
@@ItsPoppin definitely a fixed bench with as much space as you have, but a separate roll out, portable option would be handy. Can use it for outfeed on the large table, drag it to the driveway for offloading plywood sheets, transfer heavier tools like a chopsaw to a closer driveway location. I've not regretted building my own at least.
