As a educator, I really believe in the teaching a man how to fish concept. Does Socks have a trade he want to pursue so he can make some money? I believe in the same concept. However, in the video it did state that his trade/occupation is carpentry and that he works in a furniture shop. I am assuming his salary will be very small and so only can cover his immediate needs like food, clothings, bills,etc. So there would not be any extra to build a home. Colaz this is commendable and it will become a reality for Socks.

So many people in JA asking for help, including some in my family, it’s hard to keep up and you can’t help everybody so it’s best to teach the younger ones how to fish so they can help the others. Today is a rough day for me, but seeing your concern and love towards another human being brought me to tears but happy ones. I have been feeling that all that exist is hate and people trying to hurt each other, but even though its been rough for me lately, I know that it is not so, there are loving, caring human beings out there and you just personified that. Your reply is the most honest so far - get an estimate on what is needed and the cost. Then return to the serious amongst us who are prepared to put their money where their mouth is, instead of just spouting prayer because it's so easy for one to say. Not a Jamaican, but grew up in the Caribbean and know what poverty is all about. I will be happy to contribute towards helping this young man to get somewhere decent to live.

I was always wandering the background of socks, where he lives, does he work, etc.. His character never shown is living, so humble ,clean,willing always smiling and looks happy despite is living condition. Colaz I applaude you. When children are old enough to understand, parents should.make their children know all the times they received help from other people. That way the gratitude and compassion will continue.
