COPY: Check your Dog's Teeth. Smell His/Her breath and see. If it's smelly and maybe tooth infections that leads into internal infection. My Dog was like this too, I thought he's going to die. After smelling his breath, and he lost a lot of weight, cold shakes, tremble, weakness, etc.... After that, I found the infections in his mouth. I saw 1 tooth was dangling... I took a pair of pliers and pull it out, bought some antibiotics - Clindamycin for Fish (Fish Cin). He's fine now and eating like crazy and getting better too. NOTE: Check into Iodine Deficiency too, my dog is like that, shaking / cold all the time. He now eat food that have iodine and working great too.

I had a 10 year old Doxie. This was my baby my only baby. I hate your going through this. He did this but he had cancer growing in his stomach. He started with the peeing issue. Then getting really sick and throwing up. I could just see his eyes he was miserable. But then he got better and 4 months later it happened again I took him in but it was too late. His little body was shutting down. How they didn't catch the cancer growing a year before I do not know. My heart goes out to you!!

Came home one day and notice my dog didn’t come to great me so I tried to stand him up and he would collapse back down to the floor and I tried standing him up again and he was all wobbly and couldn’t maintain his balance and collapsed again before peeing on himself. I took him to an animal hospital, which btw the vet seemed like he didn’t even know what he was doing, and he checked him out they gave us food specifically for dogs with kidney infections, since according to the vet he was developing a kidney infection, and other meds. This was around 9pm-3am. We got back home and I noticed before that on the way to the hospital and on the way back he would suddenly Yelp in pain and start kicking his front paws, not sure if these were convulsiones. Once we got home I layed him on my bed to pay attention to his breathing. He began to Yelp again and kick his front paws in pain and I just knew something was wrong. Next thing you know I didn’t see his stomach moving. Felt his heart and it had stopped. He was 12 years old. I don’t know what happened to him because he was literally fine the day before. 😔

Not sure how I stumbled across your video but it was hard for me to watch. Back in April of 2017 I lost my dog who was almost 14.5 years old. She was a terrier and my wife and I loved her a lot. We never had any children so the bond was very strong. Nine months before we had to put her to sleep out of nowhere one early morning I was woken by her violently shaking. She had a massive seizure. The aftermath was almost even worse. She had two more seizures within the next two days so it wasn't a one time event. Vet guessed at her age it was probably due to a brain tumor and there was nothing we could do to remove it. She immediately was put on Phenobarbital which retards brain activity but she was never the same dog again. She hung in there for the next 9 months but it was like watching a time bomb ticking. At the same time she was going blind and was losing her strength in her hind legs. She often would take a bad stumble and land directly on her chin (this one time triggered a seizure seconds later). She also seemed often disoriented and confused. On her final morning she started seizing again and again. Probably had 5 or 6 over a two hour period. So as tough as the decision was to end her life we knew she had run out of time. I still miss her dearly and the grief has been very difficult at times to cope with.

Try to remember the GOOD THINGS !!! In this Life-Time, we get countless life... To my believe, your Dog is on the way to serve another " Purpose ", just like you and I serving our " Purposes ". Please don't be sad, I know good memories becomes bad and vise versa. But try to remember the good things and you will eventually move on. I lost my Mom 3+ Years ago and I finally come around to remember what I could of her, as " Good Things ". I no longer sit and be sad because I have my whole life ahead of me. That was a lesson I've learned.... Remember the GOOD THINGS!

Thanks Jordan for the good advice. Once they are gone I find myself only remembering the good times. The strangest and luckiest thing happened just three months after we lost her. We had an opportunity to adopt another terrier (that was a male) who looked almost exactly like her. He was only a year and a half old at the time. Best decision we ever made he's turned out to be a great companion too. I felt that maybe it was some sort of a sign or something. His owner didn't really care about him and he was living a life free roaming the streets everyday. Not a great life. He ended up saving us and we probably ended up saving him :)

I’m so sorry for your loss my doggy was going through the same, and I too had to put her down because on Thursday she was perfectly fine but at night she had uncontrollable diarrhea she would whine and get focal seizures and disoriented attacks. My heart hurt seeing her like that, everyone at home was very tired and so was she. So I had to make a decision last Friday to put her down . My heart is broken. I never knew the cause since MRI cost thousands and the vet office (neurologist) is not where I live at.

@@craigwflys - Hi, sorry I didn't get to see you message until now. KZbin is " suppressing " me and my account. We have a 3 yr old wire haired daschund that keeps having episodes that we were told were due to THC but it happens almost weekly usually in the afternoon, we call it wobbly. She sleeps it off by the next day, sometimes it takes 24 hrs but she always comes through. The vets don’t know and say that’s it’s not neurological. They’ve done blood work and all fine. We think it’s something she eats since it’s almost always 3-4hrs after a walk. We watch very carefully to make sure she doesn’t eat stuff but she is so low to the ground it’s almost impossible. We keep her away from Pot parks and no we don’t smoke. We noticed she reacts this way now after she’s had dried esophagus treats from a store so we’re not feeding that anymore. Will keep trying to figure it out and will go back to the vets again. She always pulls through but it’s upsetting to watch and leave her to sleep it off. Surely something is causing it but it’s still a mystery.

@@ashleyhaley6322 I’m sorry to hear, it’s very annoying and not much fun for your dog. It’s like going into shock. The vet thought it was cannabis from a local park because cannabis poising in dogs is fairly common apparently and she tested positive once. Like yours, our Lola is close to the ground and is like a vacuum cleaner. But I noticed it also happening shortly after having a dog chew made from deer tendon. I don’t recall the name but they are very common in the dog treat section of Bosleys pet stores, they are flat and tan/opaque and a bit stringy on the ends. So I stopped giving her those a treats and it no longer occurs. As well as are careful to watch she doesn’t pick anything up that might be pot or a pot package. Marijuana is legal in our jurisdiction so it’s everywhere. I think it was mainly the deer tendon treats and that she has some kind of allergic reaction to them. We also had the vet check her heritage for luforas disease but he said there was no known history of it in her clan or dna. So I’m pretty sure now that it was both pot and the tendon treats. Thankfully the issue has only happened once in the last year which I think was due to pot as I had been in a park earlier with her. And we’ve stopped the treats and all good on that end. If I were you I would try to identify what she has eaten if she has a seizure like this. Then the mystery might unfold. We wish you best of luck, for you pup and your sake.

Going through something similar with my geriatric Jack Russell. One day last week he slipped into convulsions, the one and only time before or since, but it was so unsettling to see. He's my dog, you know? Fifteen years. Pain from osteo, bad, possibly abscessed teeth, more and more difficulty moving around. Eats well still, maybe too much, and like yours, drinks more than before. Blood tests showed few aberrations, though. But I know he's in decline, and it could be a matter of weeks or even days now that I will have to endure the inevitable. He still seems healthy overall, but you just know it's approaching a critical mass and the decline will be steep and sudden. It's terrible. My first and only dog ever. I just don't know how I'm going to carry it. Thanks for sharing your story and the video, and very sorry. He's clearly a beautiful dog.

Kidney disease? If the kidneys are not functioning properly, toxins normally expelled by the kidneys can cause buildup and can cause confusion and other problems. I read that animals can experience “Alzheimers” dementia and they become confused at night along with a ton of other stuff. I found that this is a cognitive dysfunction and copied info from the internet. Good luck! I love doxies💕 Cognitive dysfunction, similar to Alzheimer’s for dogs, can occur if your dog’s mental faculties begin to decline. Fifty percent of all dogs over ten years of age exhibit at least one symptom of cognitive dysfunction, which means that the older your dog gets, the more likely they will suffer from this condition. Look for behavioral changes, increased hours of sleeping within a 24 hour period, decreased sleep at night, tremors, pacing, and poor potty training habits as these are all symptoms of cognitive dysfunction.

One of the likely causes of this kind of wobbliness is vestibular disease. It’s very scary when it happens, but in most cases it’s something your dog will recover from in a few days or weeks. As a dog owner it’s something you should know about so you can be ready for it. Vestibular disease in dogs is quite common and can happen to any dog. Although unusual in puppies (except in cases of congenital vestibular disease), it can affect certain breeds and especially older dogs.

Is your dog still around? You definitely have gone through extensive care to try to take care of you that you were sweet little friend there, I think sometimes dementia can happen to animals it can present it self as balance problems confusion and general forgetfulness I’m not animal expert No my doctor I just came across this information amongst research I was doing in regards to trying to see why my dachshund and I have A dachshund it’s about to turn 15 and was doing some research trying to figure out why he’s having tremors could be tons of reasons flea medication‘s were starting to trigger his, like literally he would get convulsions and it wasn’t until we figured out When it would be calm time for his next medication dosage his tremors would stop only for them to start again once he would take his flea medicine so we decided to cut it in half and give him the dose spaced out over a period of time but even that caused problems so now we just resorted to natural topical flea and tick treatment which is a bit of a pain because you have to spray him and his belly before taking him outside during summer and give him our long baths in order to drowned the fleas but it definitely outweighs the “seizure” like episodes . But now that he has been off of his flea medicine I noticed he still has some treasury-ish episodes but not as severe as they used to be… Anyway just thought I would share in hopes that it could help you or anyone else who might be having similar issues.

The vet believes it was caused by deficiency in electrolytes as well as a progression of kidney disease. I took him home because he is stable and I wasn't prepared to euthanize so suddenly. I'm glad I did. He had a big bowl of kibble mixed with rotisserie chicken 😁. He drank normally and slept like a rock. Today in going to go through his records again and look for info. If I can improve his quality of life, even for a day, I will. And when the time comes to say goodbye, there are people like y'all to help me through ❤️

I know it hurts. I had to euthanize my dog of 14 years old. I cried for days. He was no longer able to walk on his own and he was in pain. I held his face in my hand while they euthanized him. I remember crying out in sadness. Just remember the good times and know that you were put here on earth to meet your dog and love the dog for it’s short canine life. Don’t ever change your love. You gave your dog a life of love and that’s a beautiful thing.

I don’t know with my dog he’s usually so playful and like to jump on my bed and in the couch with me, run around and lay down with me now all of a sudden (this week) he seems really tired and starts shaking sometimes and doesn’t even wanna jump on the couch when the couch isn’t even high, I try playing with him but he just sits there and also doesn’t even get excited about treats anymore. I’m kinda worried but I don’t know if I need to take him to the vet

This is the hardest for us when our babies grow old and near the end of life trust me. I cried for 2 weeks while he was so sick but watching him now getting better each that hell never be them same because I have come to terms with just how old he actually is. I have decided to not save him if he ever gets sick again.

He did get sick again almost 1 month after I posted this comment and I had to let him go. I kept him home that night on a heating pad wrapped up in his favorite blanket. I held and kissed him and told him how much I loved him. I begged him to hold on until the vet opened the next day but he just couldn’t. His little body was wore out. I still feel like it’s not real

What i recommend is have your dog a blood test COMPLETE ! Usually it will take one day for results because is complete blood test No the simple blood test that is different. Check if your dog has parasite first. My dog has something similar but he will have like s cramps in his hand standing up and tremor his head and the ears are moving back and mouth a little tremor ,but he will be still able to walk or do something That always happens on the bed. I did the blood test and they detected 2 parasite in the blood From the 3 parasite for exams.he gas two Alamasia Babesia He will need medication for 45 days He don't have neither distemper nor parvovirus. He has another episode after next week his first episode but this time it was less of 15 seconds. The medication will take 45 days If he continues like that he will need ultrasound And check brain and more Things God bless all your dogs and bring them now to find a quick solutions.

My dog ate a lot of turkey ham like excessive amount one day that I let him off the leash to go use the restroom and when I had came back outside to call him in and he looked fine then the next day I noticed he threw it all up and then he became weak like he wasn’t as energetic as usual and in the back of my head I thought of it but then I was just like no and thought he was just tired. The next day on my way to school I see him laying on the ground and I call him and he doesn’t get up so I get him some water and I try to give him some and I’m just crying on my porch with him in my arms telling him how much of a good dog he was and that I loved him. He was breathing heavily and then after a while he began to have seizures and then I got even more scared and my whole body was shaking I couldn’t even stand still and I ran inside and washed my hands and stuff and went back outside and saw him in the back of his house and dogs usually hide when they are gonna die. My mom said that she saw him crawl after the seizure because he couldn’t even get up and then I went to school because I had to do presentations for some elementary kids so I had to show up even though I didn’t want to . And even to this day I blame myself for it I shouldn’t of had let him off his leash that night and I should of have went with my mom to the vet to say good bye one last time I miss you buddy 11/21/19🖤

This is cognitive dysfunction same happened to my dog The vets ACT as if “ they don’t know so they can get you to pay for mri ultrasound and all the money making experiments. They know it’s your dogs mind and they cruelty don’t want to tell you. Sorry but I just went through the same thing I spent 7 thousand dollars in one month.

No one forced you to do diagnostics, it is often a brain tumor and not sundowners, they have the same signs. You need a better vet if they didn’t discuss the option to wait and see, it is always your choice whether or not to do testing but you can never know for sure in any neurology case without an MRI

The problen with your dog is that his penis is so large it doesn't allow the brain, as well as other critical systems, to get enough oxygen to function properly....keep an eye on his kidney function...is he going less frequently, is his urine darker, does he seen to be in pain when urinating with less flow.....at this point about the only thing we can do for him is have his penis surgically made smaller....the best possible outcome would be if he would be willing to transition to female in which case the whole penis could be removed and secure for her a relatively normal life expectancy....of course these are all things that must be discussed with the patient and doctors.
