Help with Fraps recording and ZT2 game performance

Here's some advice, if you're willing to take it. 1. What you wanna do first is create a folder like this "Zoo Tycoon 2 Mods" (just an example). Where you put the file is your decision, but you could putting it in your documents library is a wise choice. (Or even your downloads folder for that matter.) 2. Then what you need to do next is move some Z2F files (Zoo Tycoon 2 Files, for anyone who doesn't know what they are) to the folder you created. (What mods you go for are your choice, but what I recommend is to remove any mods you don't plan to use at the moment, and than leave in any that you will use.) 3. Play the game and see what happens, if it doesn't lag, good. If not than try removing more if you haven't already. If you want your game to work properly, I'd advise following these steps, this goes for anyone else who experiences this problem too. Anyway I hope you follow these steps and I look forward to seeing how your take on Mammoth Undertaking ends. P.S. good luck on the next four episode if you will get to them. Also let me know if this works if you can.

Heya, Dwarfbomb here. Unlike another comment said it is not because of too many downloads. It's because of too many objects, particularly moving objects, in game. The more animations, the more lag. There isn't a cure all fix for this but here are some tips that reduce it: 1. DONT LET GUEST IN THE ZOO. More guests means more animations and more lag 2. If you are recording only one part of the zoo, only keep the animals that are in that part of the zoo when recording. Delete all animals that you don't intend to have in the video. 3. Frame rate goes up in areas on the side of the maps. If your frame rate is going deadass slow chances are you are in the middle of the map in a zoo with a lot of ingame objects. Face towards the direction with the least amount of objects. 4. If possible, use multiple maps for your zoo. I do one exhibit per map. 5. Pause the video whenever going from one area to another, and unpause when you want to see animals moving. I hope this helps. Also, if you have time, I hope you check out my zt2 channel :)

It's not your recording app but the game itself. That's normal for a modded ZT2 game. That's why many other builders run around while paused when they're making speedbuilds

@Keenakeen Keep making Prehistoric Park and you should make Nigel rescue more animals like Elasmotherium, Microraptor, Borealosaurus, Terror Bird, Smilodons, prehistoric insects, Deinosuchus, Parasaurolophus, Styracosaurus, Troodon and more.

Yeah I have to agree with what the others are saying: too many mods put in. Trust us on this. Take it from someone who was super greedy and wanting practically every download that looked good for Zoo tycoon 2!
