@@BigBrandoh any recommedations on sublimation printers? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Definitely looking into the HNP signature pro after watching many of your reviews.

Thank you for being willing to share so much information. Originally we were thinking T-Shirts only and our HPN swing away was about 14 x 12 and was fine for S - L t-shirts but forget anything larger than an XL. After getting a request for one of our designs on a sweatshirt we realized our current press was going to limit us. So we decided to invest in and HPN Pro 16 x 20 clamshell - much better for big garments! We're still at a very small volume (winter is a slow time here in the rural PNW), but the larger press has opened up more possibilities for us.

Great information, truthful, honest and straight to the point. Your heat press should be the number one investment for someone just getting started out. Start with a small one if you have limited funds but as soon as you get your first order or couple of orders. Your next investment should be a good quality heat press. Then as your business grows evaluate and make another investment in your business. One of the biggest things I see new people making the mistake on is not investing back into thier business for the first several years.

Yo thank u man for all ur help, and how you've helped me start myself. If you could do a video on how to do inventory and management I would really appreciate it as I am having trouble finding effective methods of storing shirts and transfers with the small space I have.

First of all thanx for all your videos. Anytime I get questions about starting up a Tshirt business you’re the first person I recommend. For your pop-ups have you ever printed shirts there? Would you recommend doing that instead of gambling on what shirts to make & take?

For me, budget isn’t an issue, I’m using vinyl, and it’s more of a hobby right now, so I’m leaning towards a Portrait 4 and the Hotronix Craft Press (I have a Cricut Explore, I just want to try Silhouette). Both those seem like they’ll continue to work well as a backup if I ever do need to upgrade, but will give me comfort in knowing whatever I do now I’m doing it with sturdy equipment (so the vinyl lasts as long as possible). If you have links for those two things, I’ll use them!

Mr big brandoh, wanted to ask ,what do printshops use to print on knitted jersey/cardigans, is it sublimation??
@BigBrandohАй бұрын
i have no idea what other print shops do for printing. if you know of a print shop that produces something you like, doesnt hurt to reach out to them and ask them what type of printing they offer on those garments. if knitted jerseys/cardigans is something you wanna get into, find out what material its made out of and explore some of your options. i cant speak on other people print shops or services they provide because i dont know anything about somebody elses shop. im also not familiar with cardigans since i never print on those or offer those to my customers.

Hey how you doing og hey I had a question I berly getting to the hat and tshirts business. I was having trouble with my mt1501 I was trying to stitch out some hat's I was using the frame hat that comes with the machine and I was using decky hat's but I don't know if my letters were to big or if my hats were to small my machine started acting funny and weird noses and it would scoot all the way to the let . Is it cool if you send me your letter size and the custom hoop size if you have one. And I also got the vision printer and it is a nightmare u got to baby that thang and since I'm berly starting it feel like I'm in a hole trying to dig myself out of it.

Just a question. Are you doing your own digitizer for 3d puff embroidery?
@BigBrandohАй бұрын
nah. i outsource most of my digitizing. i just google digitizers and look at turn around times and prices hahaa for me its all about how fast can i get this job in and out of here. so i outsource the digitizing so i can focus on running the machine instead of sitting at the computer digitizing the artwork

QUESTION: Do you take a lot of different size T-shirts to pop up events, or do you rely on the customers to bring their own shirts?
@BigBrandohАй бұрын
when i print for people, i never allow them to supply the shirts. just incase i mess up on a shirt, i wanna be able to replace it. so i make sure i control the shirts that i print on. When i vend out in public at events, i bring a mix of sizes. its a gamble but i try to figure what the crowd will look like and base what i bring off of that data. sometimes you can look at youtube vids or Ig/ tiktok vids of that event from the year prior and gauge the foot traffic and size of crowd on that.

@@BigBrandoh It’s transfers that they can press on totes. She took on the job from her customer knowing that she doesn’t have a way to print the transfers, spent the money on 1000 blue totes, went on a cruise, then asked me what I would charge for 1000 transfers. I’m still shaking my head. I must look like Willie lunch meat to her. She has shown me just what she thinks about me and my business.

@BigBrandohАй бұрын
saying NO is a super power! haha i do it all the time. if the job isnt worth my time and efforts, i dont take it on. i turn down big jobs, small jobs, it dont matter. i need to make sure the customer values my time and values my work. anytime a customer wants to nickel and dime a job, i stop them right there and refer them to another shop. i dont need the headache hahahaa
