Thanks I appreciate that. When I was doing research for this trip, I could not find anything giving me advice or tips. I just got back from Prague, Vienna and Budapest and we took the trains. I will be doing a couple videos on those train stations and some tips. Thanks for watching!

Great video, Pat. We loved your advice about the luggage delivery service. We wouldn't have thought of that. Also, beautiful scenery vids. The music was the best yet.

In my research prior, people complained about difficult time with luggage on this train. I started researching luggage forward and then talked to the people at our hotel. It is very common to have the porter service handle it for you - pickup at the hotel, ship to your Bergen hotel and it will be in your room prior to 8:00 pm. That was the only way to go in my mind. I watched people flipping out trying to figure out what to do with their luggage while we were enjoying the ride. Glad you liked it. The scenery was off the chart!!

I remember the train excursion I did when we stopped in Eidfjord port, and took the train from Voss to Geiglo. I was amazed at how many people couldn't figure out how to open the doors between trains. The train you were on had a different method of opening the doors, but the car I was on, had a button you would push on the wall. People would walk right past the button, and stand at the doors confused on how to open them. Our tour group ended up having to tell people how to open the doors every 15ish minutes. It started getting ridiculous after awhile to the point where we started playing the "hot and cold" game with people to see if they would figure it out.

Eric ...ha ha...good story. I have to day, I had to pause a couple of times and look at the door. Even the restroom door!! This is really a great train ride and I would not hesitate to take it again.

Thanks Pat for the footage inside the train. This has been incredibly helpful to me when booking tickets. I have just booked tickets now! I am going to take my suitcase and store it one of the racks near the door. I will be about 3 rows from it. I have a bicycle lock, to lock it to the rack. I'm concerned about someone making off with it at one of the stops. I'm undecided about getting my luggage transferred, I will see how I go. I'm going from Bergen to Oslo. Thanks again!!

The luggage transfer made it very easy but it is not for everyone. It is a wonderful ride and I would not worry about anyone taking your luggage. Thanks for watching!

You are correct in saying Fince is the summit of the line, however your next shot is of Mydral with the train departing down to Flam, which is worth a mention. 😊

Well done on your video Pat. We're planning to do this train trip in 2024 and you have provided some very useful and pragmatic advice. I also like your dry sense of humour. Thanks Pat. Sam

Thanks Dad….but seriously great video. A lot of young people have great fancy videos which feel inauthentic. Drone footage etc everything is amazing x and y. Your video gives me a better sense of everything. Keep up the dad feel it worked for me. Subscribed

ha ha, that got a laugh from me. All kidding aside, you are right....lots of drone shots, fancy photos, but they never give the information you are looking for. I like hearing prices, accomodations, tips and any other facts that will be helpful when traveling the world. I think I am past the Dad feel and am more like Grandpa at this stage....time goes fast. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Pat did your luggage arrive ok? We travel on Sunday and like the idea of luggage transfer. By the way who did you use?

Our luggage was in our room at 6:00 pm at our hotel in Bergen...and I never had to touch it. We stayed at the Hotel Continental in Oslo and they made our arrangements. There are a bunch of the luggage forward people and it is a major business. No issues whatsoever and I would do it again the same way....so much less hassle.

Thank you for your video. Could you please tell me whether the table at the Pluss Seats is foldable/removable or not? I'm wondering how person on the window side could go out except for people on the aisle move away for them.
@patsadventures6381
@patsadventures6381 3 ай бұрын
The table was stationary, so if the person at the window wanted to get out, the aisle person has to move. Thanks for watching and hopefully it was helpful.

Taking the train from Oslo to Bergen which ide of the train is the best side to sit on? Also, when you buu your ticket can you reserve a seat?
@patsadventures6381
@patsadventures6381 6 ай бұрын
We were sitting on the left side with great views of the lakes, fields and mountains. Yes, when you buy your tickets you can reserve your seats which is what we did....that is the only way to go in my opinion. If I have the chance to take it again, I sure would. Thanks for watching!

Did you have any issues looking up or booking tickets? Almost every time I used it, I would look up a date and results would be the next day NOT the one I requested. Bought tickets from Bergen to Oslo and they sold me the wrong day!

We did not have any problem. We booked directly with the rail line. I have heard of people having major problems when they book through a 3rd party site.

DO NOT USE RAIL NINJA, they are scammers. They don’t provide the luggage delivery service they say they will, and many people also get scammed with tickets and then dont receive it or they are wrong. Use Vy like he said and the PORTER service. Just dont use rail ninja. Beautiful ride btw and I recommend the right side if you go from Oslo til Bergen.

They get horrible reviews. We NEVER use any 3rd party booking sites to avoid scams and mix ups. We have heard of too many people with problems. Thanks for watching and commenting!
