Ever "Hear" of the term... 'its never too late?" well, I am 54 and I am NOW learning ASL. Mainly because my daughter is studying it 4yrs now and I am so interested in learning so I can communicate with her as well as locals. Because of your Videos Dr. Bill I am able to enjoy learning, and practicing. My daughter is very good at ASL but not good at teaching me. hahaha. I do hope to purchase some from your lifeprint site to help you during these trying times. I may even buy the 4 semesters instruction! I will check it out now. Thank you for what you do! Do not stop. Hi! I've been following you off and on for a few years now! I am not fluent in ASL I am self-taught I'm thinking about going to school for it. I love the way how you actually show how to do the signs multiple times over. I don't have the speed of the video slowed down at all and I can still understand some signs that I'm not familiar with. How would you sign 'lost' as in "I am lost in the woods". Also - is there a sign for "I am training for a triathlon" or is it the same sign as practice? Much thanks!

I prefer this method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/foWmoX6PeKyGY68 But you will also see people do it this way: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX7Ml42Nf9tmrdU Also see: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/l/lost.htm If telling a story about being lost in the woods you might see someone use a "Classifier-1" hand to represent someone wandering aimlessly in the woods (with an accompanying confused / lost facial expression).

To sign "training" just establish context and then use the sign "practice" to mean training. Some people might use a "T" hand for the dominant hand when signing "practice" to turn it into "training" but I recommend just relying on context without initializing the sign. That is the sign for "experience." I signed it with a bit of emphasis meaning she has a lot of experience.
