Newer ones seem to have a stick connected to the filter that reaches to the front with a screw holding it down for easier removal. Thanks for the vid!!

Nice work. I just used this video to clean my water heater. Navien customer support also asked me to clean a water reservoir/pipe that is outside and at the bottom. You take out the pin from the PVC pipe and just clean it with water. It was really dirty.

How do you flush the heat exchange on this one? Mine is clogged.

Check your heat exchanger with soapy bubbles upon start up, make sure you are not leaking flue gases into the home. Unfortunately most units leak when I test them, Navien will usually replace the heat exchanger under warranty. It is a very common issue, I have more leakers than nonleaking. Its sad.

Nice, thorough explanation,amigo! Please though, do yourself and your family a service and look at a safer alternative to that electric outlet “octopus” located near two -three water sources (just to the left of your heater over the washer). I’m speaking from a three decade career in emergency management, law enforcement and fire career. That is an accident waiting to happen! And everyone...regarding newer Navien models, a heads up.....they have a single Phillips head screw and the air filter slides out making that “wrangling” unnecessary. Again, sir, very nice video.

Well, the owner's manual tells you to remove the fan before removing and cleaning the air filter, but it looks like you were able to do it without removing it, so I'll give that a try.

Came up as "10E" for us... Air filter was completely black and plugged... No one ever mentions that you need to clean a tankless... Saved us a costly weekend service call!!!
