Dude, this is an incredibly helpful video, especially the spool pins guide. Many people are like me, "stuck" on a lock that they _see_ bypassed with proficiency that's practically foreign to them. What makes this so helpful for me is how methodological you are _in practice._ Especially with the American lock, never backing up, no I would say the way you overcame the security pins is always an expected step (lateral progress anyway). I've been stuck on that lock since dropping the practice several months ago, but damn, tonight I picked my American lock *first try* after watching this. It's your approach, your confidence that did it! I had just assumed until I learned to never pick a false set I wasn't going to bypass that kind of lock security other than blind luck. So thanks, good sir knight!

I know the feeling. I'm stuck on every lock I have. About 10 noob locks. It's embarrassing even though I only know..I figure I'll practice for a few more hrs, then take a break and quit. Haha.☹🤦♂️ I'm very efficient at most anything I try. But lock picking is completely foreign to me and I think I'm getting worse. . I've watched 100s of videos.

Master: thank you for your terrific teaching. I am a begginner and I am still to study carefully all the videos, but I am impatient to solve something because I am practicing with a "real" lock in an abandoned house and is exciting, dont worry no crime involved. Pardon me everyone because probably is the dumb question of the month. I succeded in turning the cylinder by single pin picking, but when I went half turn, i.e. when the key hole got upside down as it were, it blocks in there, and I am stuck, dont know what to do, the door is not yet open, you know is normal you have to go a couple of turns before the bolt clears. How to understand this and overcome it? Thank you man you're awesome.

There's a small exception to the direction in which you should turn a deadbolt - Kwikset 816 Series Tenant/Landlord locks have two cores, one on top and one on bottom. The landlord core needs to be turned toward the frame to unlock it because it's on the opposite side of the bolt.

Hi, dear friend, can you tell me how to professionally call the tool for re-folding the insert which is under the handle in the mortise lock? I have a few tucked up inserts and I do not advise you with tweezers, I know that tweezers with tweezers are inserted using only tweezers with springs - one from the side of the carrier, one is inserted in metal for blocking each bottom pin, then put in the drum and attach it with omega or o-ring (forgive my very bad english)

I myself work in the construction and I wanna secure my tools and goods and I was wondering witch kind of lock would do the job. But when I saw you picking them I thought to myself " I hope them thieves are dumb and don't know this knowledge " but I consider that naive... what about these: www.veiligheids-sloten.nl/M-C_Color_pro_4x?gclid=CjwKCAiAj53SBRBcEiwAT-3A2BVY7vBcyg2yG7NeQd9Epy84aXPN4idzDl-aiXNnMZWjtA_9fPzBsRoCIxUQAvD_BwE they consider these as top notch stuff. And I acutely think that even you can't crack them ;)
@HelpfulLockPicker7 жыл бұрын
14TK Longshot I can't read it but are those just dimple locks? They shouldn't be too hard. You always want physical resistance more than pick resistance. Picking a lock in the field is much harder than at a desk. Also, most criminals do destructive entry because it is fast and takes no skill. You should be good with most locks. Adding security pins help prevent raking and bumping

I had to older quickset deadbolts. And I tried raking and single pin settings. And had absolutely no luck. I’m usually OK with locked knobs. But deadbolts always throw me. How much pressure should I be applying or holding on the turn. Please and thank you

you do not want to pick a lock in use or one that you do not own. However, the problem with deadbolts is it actually takes a good amount of force to throw or retract the bolt once the lock is picked. It can make tensioning them tricky. Another thing they make difficult is using a plug spinner. If you are single pin picking try more tension they likely have at most 2 spools. If you are raking try a little less tension. Another thing you can do is try to add some lubricant like lock Houdini on older locks that can go a long way. Link to Lock Houdini: amzn.to/2IaAjMk

HelpfulLockPicker Thank you. The tension rod I have is not as dirty as the one that you have and I kind of bins a little bit. Maybe I was playing too much pressure. I shot it once with some WD-40 probably could use more thanks again

Christopher Soberg I wouldn't use WD-40 too much it can make things worse

Rapid entry? Who would suggest or ask for any slower method? Is slow entry offered?
@HelpfulLockPicker6 жыл бұрын
Rapid entry methods work when they work but when they don't work they don't work and you need to use the "slow method" such as single pin picking because you have more control
