You asked in another video how we came to this series. I came from LPL's videos and your videos randomly appearing. I just bought my first pick set just for a fun hobby. I'll have to dig through the basement to find our locks, but I'm in this to just have some fun. Great, very informative videos.

Thanks for sharing! A great lock to learn on if you are from the US is a Kwikset ( non-smarkkey). Also, in the video description I have a great progression of padlocks to try out. Maybe you will have some at home as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for a great series! :-) I imagine that lots of people have a bag of "practice" locks like the Master Lock No. 3. Do you know a place to get them, maybe even without key?
@HelpfulLockPicker4 жыл бұрын
eBay is a good place to look for locks without keys

As a European, do you think it is usefull for me to find some bags of used US locks on e-market as they tends to be cheaper and most of the time res-sets instead of here where it is a bit harder to buy used euro-locks wich are mostly obscur to me to gut and reset?? Thanks for the content and as always stay legal and safe!!

I think US locks like the Kwikset is a great lock to get started with. If you can get one for a reasonable cost it is worth it :)

Great videos, thanks for the inspiration! I've been repinning a few schlages that I picked up from Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I gut them after picking and randomly put the pins in the next one .

Excuse me but, what is progressive pinning?
@HelpfulLockPicker5 жыл бұрын
It is when you take all the pins out and add one at a time until you can pick the whole lock
@jamesthe-doctor89815 жыл бұрын
HelpfulLockPicker aha! Now it makes sense. I just started watching your home school Playlist and I probably missed that part. Thank you!

In the spirit of learning more via progressive pinning I found a set of four at Sparrows that are made specifically for the task. I have no idea how long it'll take for them to arrive from Canada, but I can't wait to get my hands on them. I also ordered their recharge kit, which includes standard, spool, serrated, and I think also some mushroom pins, pinning tweezers, and a core follower. Should be fun!
