What great, humane, and decent people King George VI and Lionel Logue were. I find this story so very inspiring.

Inspiring story. It could not have been easy for King George vI to have admitted he needed help. The fact the King would consider one of his subjects a personal friend… I got choked up.

I'm so glad your grandfather was successful in helping the King. The King was a good man and didn't deserve to have the affliction of stuttering. Despite the King being impatient and hot tempered your grandfather stayed working with him and was always there for him.

Same. You should read a book called Elizabeth and the Piccadilly Council. It's a new children's adventure series about the queen. It was written by an American which is very cool.

As a History major, it appalls me that he isn’t wearing white gloves, or any gloves, to handle the documents. Therefore, is staining them with his hands.

It's not like those items are on loan from a museum. They are his personal property, and have always been in his family's possession. Bottom line, while they are obviously of historical importance to the outside world, they're his family heirlooms.

tbh I read some of my grandpa's books he got from his dad so some of them are from the 20s and even though they traveled a lot they're still pretty intact except for yellowing pages Maybe it's why? And since they're royal documents they must be in a box most of the time so they're probably pretty well preserved idk I just love old books i'm not a professional ha ha

So Logue's own records indicate he worked with "Bertie" in 1926, not 1936 as indicated in the movie. Any comments on why this would be?
@XoXSmittenKitten33oX
@XoXSmittenKitten33oX 9 жыл бұрын
The beginning of the movie takes place in 1926, whereas when his father died the movie skips over 10 years. King George VI was indeed crowned in 1937.

It's a movie (but not a documentary), it follows some artistic rules! Therefore there are some more cases of inaccuracy.

Maybe because he is talking about him and her as a person. Another reason could be because he never met his grandfather and grandmother.

These are personal, family documents and NOT museum pieces and as such can be treated any way their owners wish. They can even burn them if they wish, so keep your prying eyes and criticisms to yourself.
