Very entertaining, from the baby Rogan and Doogie under your shirt to the GREAT pleasure you have in caring for both turkeys and the chickens. I sometimes think I may have missed my calling by following my grandparents practice of raising chickens for a living after watching these videos. Praying your energy level keeps up with your required tasks each day.

Thanks for this Punk! I finally got my hen bred and it looked like it took but she's not laying eggs yet. Should I breed her again before she starts laying? Poor thing, it did not look enjoyable at all. Glad that I don't have close neighbors as well. 🤣🤣

Hey Dallas!! If you're sure he slipped it past the goalie, then she's good for four weeks or so.. which is usually long enough to fertilize her whole clutch. If you think there's a chance he missed the mark, go ahead and breed her again to be safe!! Good luck, my friend!

They are some clumsy birds haha. I did spanish black a couple of years ago and broad white last year. I wanted to breed the black turkeys, but I just don't have the setup for them. This year I got my first burbon reds. Super stoked.

So funny story: I got one turkey poult from the auction last year for $3. She survived- but we didn’t eat her bc she raised our chicks and ducklings. Soooo I got a Tom from the auction so she can have babies. Bring it home and look it up…. They can’t mate naturally 😂😂😂 it’s a bronze broad breasted 😂
@North44farmstead10 ай бұрын
HAHA, yeah, those suckers are usually too fat to mate, but occasionally I've heard of an especially agile pair getting it done! 🤣
@onlygoatsfarm10 ай бұрын
@@North44farmstead I don’t think they’ll be able to 😂 I was so disappointed in myself when I got it home and looked them up 😂

Punk help! My bourbon red TOM has taken over the nest of eggs! What's up with this bone head?Ever we that before? Your loyal viewer, rstr. (rooster)
@North44farmstead10 ай бұрын
Wow rstr!! 😲!! It is unusual and quite rare that a tom sets the nest, so I'd say you have a remarkable boy on your hands!! Please keep us posted!! 🙏 Smalls had a son many years ago that I sold to a friend, and she reported that he was obsessed with sitting on the eggs. It's common in many avian species, but NOT in turkeys!!!

Hi R, to begin with, thank you very much for the prompt response! My brother lives in New York and he can take an egg from you and send it to us himself, it seems to me that on November 17th someone is going to fly in our direction. Will you be able to collect 20-40 eggs and send them to my brother in New York?
@North44farmstead2 ай бұрын
Sorry, friend. Not only are my turkeys done laying eggs until spring (they start up again around April), but we can not ship them anywhere without an NPIP certification, which we do not have. I hope you find some, good luck!

Hello guys!) I admire you and your work) I also keep my farm in Russia) about 7 years ago, when I was in the USA, I bought an incubation egg of red Bourbon and brought it to Russia and now, due to accidental circumstances, I have lost the purebred bourbon, do you think you could have sent the egg to us?) Thanks in advance

Hi X, wow Russia ! Sorry you lost your bourbon 😔. I wish we could help, but we don't have the license we need to ship eggs, sorry! I hope you find some again 🙏
