I remember that maranta used to live outdoors at his old-old place and got absolutely scorched by the sun & just responded by growing the nicest purplish leaves .... so he's not wrong in saying it's hardy ... I never had success with them indoors though! They much prefer the outdoors (but go dormant during winter). Thanks :)
