Braylee’s speaking so much better these days. Her speech is more complex, but also more intentional. I think before she was just using echolalia and repeating things she heard rather than coming up with her own thoughts/sentences/feelings. Maybe when you’re working on longer words with more difficult sounds for her like you were when she was reading, it could help to break up the sounds for example: yellow lemon could be ye-ll-o-w llll-eee-mmm-ooo-nnn. Something like that. I think it’s great that him say the words first so she knows what sounds she needs to copy.

I wonder if having Braylee practice using songs might help solidify some of those letter sounds? I've noticed that she often has clearer pronunciation when she's singing. I also know how much Braylee loves music & singing. I've put together a list of simple and/or well known songs that might help, if you want Ladder- Jacob's Ladder by Huey Lewis & The News Lamp - Give me oil in my lamp; original by The Byrds, but there are multiple kids versions Lamb- Mary had a little lamb Ladybug - Ten Little Ladybugs Leaf - California Dreamin' (opens with 'All the leaves all brown') Yellow - Yellow Submarine Leg - Hokey Pokey Last - Last Christmas Lemon - Lemon Tree Lollipop - Good Ship Lollipop Just an idea ❤️❤️

There are many things I don't envy about life in the upper north country, like freezing overnight temps and snow, but I do envy the fall colors. They are so beautiful. Braylee is doing so well with her speech, I am delighted with her progress. I know it takes a lot of effort on your part but to hear her speak must give you such a great feeling of pride and accomplishment.

Ohhh Braylee did so well with her speaking hw!! She said leaf so well! I think she deserves a lot of praise in those moments! Even when she slightly moves her tongue in the right direction, even if it is minor she should get some claps or something exciting!! So that there’s more of a differentiation between the right and wrong way. It seems like she is really struggling! But she will get it if she keeps working! Go B!! 👏 🎊 🍃 I also struggled with speaking when I was little! There were some words people never even told me that I was saying wrong and then I found out as an adult 😅

She’s improving every time I check your blog. So cool! 🥳🥳🥳And off topic she’s cute as a bug as they say! 🤭😁👍🌷 I wonder , does she like to do “L” in songs that naturally say “La-la-la-la”🎼🎶”?

I love the idea of learning through songs - there would be lots of repetition and words in context rather than isolated words; I’m no speech therapist but I feel like that could be useful. And with Braylee’s love of music, she might be keen!

So she speaks individual words. Can she form sentences. If so is it prompted or can she do it on her own?
@TheWeeFamily3 ай бұрын
So far she has 2 word unprompted sentences sometimes. A lot of her communication is scripted.
