My grandma passed away, her condition was already serious and she was on bed. She passed away in peace without any pain in the bed. I tried doing the things shown in the video, but I was too late.

These videos should be shown to those in primary school so they know how to help out,in future a situation like this. In the woman's voice,you could just see how upset she were,seeing her husband like this,so then they'll understand the seriousness of finding someone like this,then they can help ok therefore

I hope you're doing well these days. Condolence to your mom. I regret doing nothing too. I wish I could've done more for my dad... He was unresponsive and his heart was not beating when we found him splayed out. I wish I knew what to do so we wouldn't be just gaping and crying like fools. I wish they taught basic first aid like this in school so I could've sprung to action instead of... I wish.

It’s a little odd that they don’t recommend expired air resus anymore.it most definitely helps but we are all so concerned about catching some killer virus,it’s always a risk but everything’s a risk these days.I’ve done many trauma courses in the Military & it would be natural to blow some air into a casualty.

i was also wondering why they are not saying to do so many chest compressions alternating with breaths into the mouth (??)

Air resus is not recommended for 'layman' CPR, if you are alone, since quite a long time. Some body of authority (don't remember their name, US based I think) came up with the statistics, stating that the chance of dying was higher if mouth to mouth/nose was given than if you just did proper compressions. Makes kind of sense, as you also compress and decompress the lungs, and there is oxygen in your system. It's therefore more important to get the blood into the brain and coronary bloodvessels. Though, IIRC, the sample size was rather small?

@@dynamicconceptjb It might also be compressions only if there are severe facial injuries, or there is chemical spill or other noxious substances on the face/ airways area. However the longer the brain is without oxygen there is a higher risk of brain death, so it is important to attempt. There are Face Shields that Red Cross used to supply with their branding, which have a one way valve for first aiders to use for their protection. I wonder if these will be available again?

@@jenniferjen5422 nope false, we figured out that rescue breaths only deliver mostly co2 so they can be worse, and should only be given to a victim of drowning. If someone has no pulse breathing into them does nothing but chest compressions helps circulate oxygen left in the blood

Ok I work security at a hotel I suggested to my boss about every employee should know CPR I know how been trained passed twice he said NO it's a liability everyone that performs CPR on someone gets sued he said no on mock drills for fire safety so I'm supposed to watch the hotel catch fire call the fire dept and sit and watch if there is someone drowning in the pool.stand by and watch them die ? if someone calls unconscious stand by let them die ? I don't understand if there's someone out there that could maybe explain it more to me
@jenniferjen5422
@jenniferjen5422 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what country you are in but normally there is at least 1 first aider on per shift, and a Fire Marshal has the responsibility of doing fire drills / checks so its important that you know who has these responsibilities are, and be there as a back up to keep pathways routes, fire exits clear, call for emergency services if necessary whilst the first aider administers treatment. Security is an important function to protect the first aider and patient from any form of harms and make sure all routes are clear, stairwells not blocked etc...Maybe your boss needs to outline the Fire Procedure and First Aid Procedure?

@@charlesrowland8202 It is a shame when companies treat key staff this way - ask to know at least where is the fire meeting point and who is the Fire Marshal (takes names with a register outside at fire meeting point), ask who is the First Aider for each shift? Companies can be fined for not having fire safety procedures! Are you agency / self employed or employee? Maybe certain staff get told and others not?

@jenniferjen5422 2 жыл бұрын
@@charlesrowland8202 Yes its true, but you still need to know who the first aider is and if they have a 2nd backup CPR First Aider in place. It won't help one casualty if 30 staff can do CPR all at once. Security are the people who make sure that first aid is administered in a safe way without interruption, security can also meet paramedics outside and lead them to casualty quickly, clearing pathways, preventing unnecessary crowding, minimising disruption. Personally I would have thought since incidents like Astroworld, the security industry would have more stricter rules in place as a result? Do you have an industry union / body?
