Me and my bestfriend of 21 years we started a homeless outreach a few years ago and have been going out during the holiday season to provide care packages and food to homeless in our area, we both have watched a few of your videos and it helped us with ideas for more things we should buy. Last year we were able to help 12 people with winter care packages, this year we’re expecting to do about double that. Thank you for all you do! Sometimes they just need a safe spot, where they can just sort all their stuff. What I like to give them the most is duffle bags/dark colored, maybe a backpack. I used to get the backpacks at ebay but now my machine is too old and was phased of out of there and out of Walmart, was fun while it lasted.

Michael!!! The wonderful things you do for all these people is just awesome! I was homeless for only a short time when I bought a new-to-me vehicle and left the state I was from and ventured to St. Louis to start a new life with my fiancé. Our truck broke down and the city towed it. Pretty much everything we had was in there but we couldn't retrieve the truck or anything in it because we didn't register it and the title was inside the glove box. We had nothing. We ended up panhandling for food and cash to survive and eventually we started to stay in cheap and run down motel rooms...that lasted only for 9 nights! One day, while "flyin my sign", a very generous man gifted me 3 large reusable Walmart bags of food, a cooler, a tent, an air mattress & a propane grill and told me a safe place I could set up camp. My fiancé was defending me from getting robbed one night after leaving where I was panhandling and he had both the bones in his forearm broke and needed to have surgery. All the money I got from panhandling got saved up and we got a small apartment after 3 weeks. He had his surgery 2 days later. Only 16 days after his surgery...the love of my life passed away. The only person that I had a reason to be in St. Louis was gone. So, the next morning, I called my sister and she jumped in her truck, drove 6 hours to pick me up and bring me "home". I didn't have a drug problem and I don't drink alcohol...but most of the people I encountered being out on the streets and panhandling did. I am better off back home now to deal with my mental health surrounded by my family and a few friends. Everytime you hug someone in your videos, it actually makes me get emotional and I remember when those people were me...struggling to get by, stay safe, find a "good spot" to get some good sleep...it is definitely a struggle and God WILL for sure bless you for what you do! My prayers for all who are struggling that the good lord keeps them safe. God bless you Michael for everything you do!!! And may God bless others who do the same as well! I hope to someday be well off enough to return the good that was given to me in my time of need!

@@vernise1969. It's a camping kit that consists of an aluminum frying pan, a small pot and lid to heat liquids or soups, and a cup. I'm quoting what a Girl Scout mess kit was like, the ones Michael buys might be a little different. It all folds up into a nice compact carrying size and many have a pouch to store them in.

I did today and will from now on “Michael “, I just had left Aldi when I saw a houseless man sitting on the side , I asked him, if he wants to go shopping, his face lid up, anything he picked up he looked at me, I told him to get what he wants and so he did, I told him about my favorite chocolate and got him some++ so appreciative, he went to my car with me because I had handwarmers, gloves , shawls in there,,, and when he told me that I looks 20 years younger than I am, my face lid up I thought about your motto, that nobody gets poor by giving No thank you needed, am not bragging, maybe it rubs off on somebody else As always, thank you Michael

I’ve been helped some and been in danger many times. One day when I get back on my feet I want to help people who were in the same situation as me. Yes Michael is doing incredible work, but we all can do the same just grab a bag of socks next time you go to a big box store and give them out to people flying signs on the corners. It's a great way to celebrate Christmas. p.s.homeless always need socks.
