I’m in complete and utter support of the more metal-oriented SGM. Songs like The Stain will always be among my favorites because they’re ambient, angular and technically impressive…but Nils has this incredible voice for metal. He could’ve easily fronted a Slipknot/Opeth/etc type act…he’s got the same amount of “scary” in his voice when it really ramps up.

I *used* to have them. At a show of theirs in 2007 at the Bowery Ballroom, Nils and Carla handed out copies of the lyrics and asked us to sing along with them. It was a magical experience. I managed to hold onto the set list after all these years and even after ~12 moves...but alas the lyric sheet was lost along the way.
