You're a star !! Mine came with that ugly 1/4" gap between the side indicator and wheel arch. The lazy guy who fitted the bumper last time clearly missed that little tab inside. Now I know how to fix this 👍👍👍

+TheFreedomGuy haha yeah, it’s not totally obvious when reassembling. In fact I had it half screwed back together before I noticed it and I was like hmm… something doesn’t look right. That’s why I do all the work myself because the difference was I went back, figured it out and corrected it. Your guy either didn’t know your car well enough to notice, or more likely noticed when I did and was too lazy to fix it or just didn’t care. 🍻

@@HelpMeDIY Exactly. The funny coincidence is that I literally took the bumper off last week, to try and adjust whatever was wrong. I haven't yet gotten around to look at what was causing the problem, but as I saw your video, I went "BINGO!!". I think the previous guy didn't care. He had used drywall screws to fit the bumper with 😱🤣

this was a big help today during bumper removal...a few observations: all of the screws and there must have been more than twenty were just about identical and used the same size torx. i assume this is as it was from the factory as my car has not been modified AFAIK. although very similar, the ones that fastened to the body colored panels had a shoulder. those that were used to fasten the wheel-well liners together had no shoulder. the large electrical connector on the right side behind the wheel-well liner and that was broken and zip-tied to the frame in this video os fastened to a metal tab with a plastic christmas tree type fastentor to the tab. i can see why the previous owner of this video's cayman practically destroyed it, as it was not clear as to how the fastener works until i managed to remove the connector from the tab and get a good look at it. it's diabolical...but i eventually figured it out and didn't end up with it broken. most of the hour and half was spent figuring out how to jack up the front of the car and get the wheels off. i think i might be possible (although i'm not sure i would recommend it even if it WAS possible) to remove the bumper without jacking up the car or removing the wheels, and possibly not even removing the side markers as the bulb socket can be easily removed with the bulb by reaching up and behind the side of the bumber....i think. :) of course one would have to know where the screws were at and have a torx socket and ratchet wrench.

first off - great video, thank you. i was able to do the same after watching. what i please need help from anyone here that might know is: what the devil are the hose connector locking tabs called and where can i get more? I’m talking about the piece that Aaron is holding at 8:25 in the video. I have tried to find parts lists that show the washer fluid system and NOWHERE is this tab (or the connecting pieces the tab is supposed to keep together) listed. I’m going crazy trying to order some more. TIA
