Fiji Indians are proud of their Indian heritage! It’s mostly out of respect for the land they have lived in and for the locals they have lived with for years that they remain calm when the locals among themselves argue how the Ethnic Indians in Fiji should be described.e.g. If I say I’m Indian some locals would say but you live here , and if I say I’m Fijian then some would say but you are Ethnic Indian. So we choose to not say much because the locals have not all made up their mind.

Fiji boxing is really in the gutters but such is to be expected when the pay is in the gutters too. Events are far apart and even then hope for a phone call. Plus who wants to put in 8 week camp for $300. My uncle won multiple champions but he lived broke and alone in 4x4 wooden house with no running water or electricity, just a cupboard with utensils, bag of clothes, matress and a wall of championship belts. What a waste of life.
