Are these Gecko of the same profile and width of the Spes Vectir? You mention they are shorter, but what about the profile when wrapped around forearms?

my reenacton club had metal eqivilant of those forearms(basicly splint style) and they wore them with out tieing them to the gambeson....who ever wore them was in huge pain because of them slipping constantly....well ever after i sown in the tie in points on gambesons it was marvelous thing to wear, you basicly dont know you got them...so its silly to see any sort of forearm protection or gambeson not to have tie in points.....(or anchors as i like to call them)

To alleviate the velcro straps from slipping from low traction, would small strips of grip tape where the straps fold over work?

I honestly have no idea. It's definitely worth a shot, though. But fixing the elbow cups and then fixing the forearm protection to that seems to be like the best bet.

What under/inner fingerless gloves are you wearing on the vid?

They're gel hand wraps, used for boxing. They leave me with a lot of finger mobility and feel, but pad my knuckles. :) Love them.
