I just brought a 2007 jeep like two weeks ago. First time I ever owned one. I’ve owned scat pack, super bee and r/t. I have to admit. This one is the most fun. Weird uh. Came across your videos. They definitely help me Out for sure!!

i have a limited 07 and i wanted to do the srt calipers conversion for a long time, but now with this video i know that i'm not going to put 4 pistons in the front, this is so badass. I event found a set of two disc already done for that conversion for the jeep on RB performances brakes, theyre not cheap but no drilling and spacers. Thanks a lot for that video i really like how you explain everthing

I didn’t even look at the age of this video doesn’t matter really why it’s just an opinion From me, keep the red Brembo color looks good on there even if you gotta redo them or if you rebuild them later down the road new seals Pistons so on so forth , You can always take them off clean them very well. Blast them put them in an old oven off gas them powder. Cook them in high temp. You can get the exact powder Brembo uses I don’t have the part number off the top of my head, but you can contact prismatic powders and buy it from them by the pound which you won’t need that much. I don’t recall if Cerakote has a red but you didn’t wanna go red you wanted to go blue You could definitely find a blue powder coat. That will be much more durable just saying either way good job liked the video of thumbs up.

@timmyl2005 Funny you should hit me about this right now... I have been rocking yellow calipers since shortly after this video was shot. I have been on the Prismatic Powders website looking at colors for months now. The Jeep is in desperate need of an upgrade, and Im trying to decide which way Im gonna go. I might do some new wheels of a different color so I will need a new shade of Brembos.. I was lookkng at a powdercoat system this week, but I have a powdercoat shop I already rock with. Thanks for the info and advice. Appreciated.

unless you doing some crazy slalom track racing...you basically went from a $800 brake job to a $2000 one. I do applaud your quest for this mod..👍🏼

Personally, I have NEVER paid $800 for a brake job, let alone $2000. Powerstop Extreme Z26 Carbon Ceramic pads are $80, and if I need new rotors, they are $700 for the set. The brake job is so easy on these Brembos, if you pay $1000 you got robbed. I don't course race, but I have reached the limits of those 4 piston Brembos it came with. The 6 pistons will stop you down from 100 with zero fade. Plus they look badass as shit ;)

what tires do you have, i have gone through 3 sets of Goodyear runflats, i prefer runflats but ready to try something else.

I run the Nitto 555GTs.. They are so much stickier and offer a much better ride than the GY's. I left the runflats years ago and have not looked back..

Front 20x9.5 +35.. Rear 20x10.5 +45 .. lowered on Eibach ProKit. Zero issues. Its best to get blanks so the shop can drill out the bolt pattern and offset. NOBODY makes wheels pre-configured for these rigs except for the replicas on Ebay.

Did you ever get the brembos sorted out? I’m having the same problem with bleeding the brakes after I went to the 6 pot In my Scat. Even bled the ABS and still have about the first 1/4 of the brake soft. Guess I need to keep bleeding lol. Hopefully after some more bleeding. I get full function!

My issue turned out to be the bolt that runs across the top of the caliper was loose. Im guessing that it allowed the caliper to flex out a tiny bit resulting in a soft pedal.. Once I cranked down that nut, the brake pedal became firmer than it had ever been.

I have a 08 jeep commander 5.7 just put some trackhawk rims on it. I got for a steal. I know the 06 10 jeep commander is alot like the 06 10 cherokee. My question is, I can get my hands on a pair of charger scat pack 6 piston brembos, Do you know if this could be compatible? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Pretty much everything on the Commander XK is compatible with the Grand Cherokee WK V6 and 5.7 HEMI's. If you want big SRT brakes, you will need to get some WK SRT spindles front and rear to make them work. You could probably also grab a set of big Wilwood calipers and rotors to fit on your original XK spindles.. I'm not certain, but I think you might be able to find something.

They call for wildly different part numbers, but they might slide in. The whole knuckle is different as well. The WK2's have different rotor offsets, where the LX's have the same as WK1's. That's why I used Hellcat calipers.

Hey, I read on some forums that you can also go with a WK2 brake rotors has it has the same bolt pattern, is that a viable option? Or you recommend the hellcat rotors?

While WK2 rotors have the correct bolt pattern, the rotor offset is different. If you bolted on a WK2 rotor and a Hellcat caliper, the rotor face would not sit dead center in the caliper. The problem is the hubs on the front of Wk1 set out farther than the WK2 in relation to the caliper mounting holes. I had to do some deep digging to find this out. That was my original plan of attack.

No, not by this method because the caliper offset is different for the WK2. I do believe the mounting holes on the spindle may be different as well.
