Definitely missing the spare tires in the rear as that helps to keep it balanced when jumping sometimes they have to add weights in different spots without breaking weight class etc. also the truck needs a power adder of some kind maybe a cheaper Mustang blower or something just to give it some more torque out the hole.

My 1988 IROC had Dzus fasteners from the factory, for the hatch window louvers, to lift up and clean window. After I fully modded mine with a SC 383 and T-56 6-speed and cage, and a LOT more, the fasteners held at 160+ MPH. It was Pro-Tour before the term existed, because I watches road racing growing up. With 3.23 rear gears and 315mm wide tires in the rear, and lack of traction, it ran low 11s in 1993. I converted it to speed-density, and an Accel DFI computer myself. There was no self-tuning back then, so I used a 1987 Toshiba T-1000 "laptop" over serial port cable, USB did not exist yet. I had a wide-band O2 sensor installed a rich-lean indicator on the dash to get the tune right, what a PIA. Vortech SC 11 PSI boost, would spin the tires halfway down the track. It was set up with a road-race suspension. 295s front/315s inside the fenders with custom Boyd wheels in the rear.

Age is part of it. Cops used to mess with me bad : my permit was regularly suspended/restricted. Now, with a bit of gray in my beard, I haven’t had a ticket since 09. But, I don’t run loud exhaust on either car, one is low-but not slammed-and I don’t do as much stupid stuff as I did back in the day. At least, not where they can see it: I take the wrx out on fire roads to play, and only let the M Roadster loose on remote mountain roads up in WV early in the morning. Round town, I’m all about turn signals, obey stop signs, and keep it to 5-7 over. A wise man once told me, “There’s more of them than there are of you-and they’ll keep throwing you in jail until you get the hint.” -thanks, Dad!

Really? They're pretty common. Corvette even has a lower rev limiter for the first 1000 miles, once it passes 1000, it goes up another 2000rpm or so.
