Amazing build. I've watched all of your videos several times now. I have an 85 RC 318/727/4x4 that I'm looking to do a Hemi swap in. I've been going back and forth on just engine swap vs. the entire drivetrain from a 3rd or 4th gen Ram. I know it would be much better on the highway with a newer trans with more gears and overdrive, but it would be way more work (and money) and most likely involve messing with the axles as well. Any plans on getting to Baker's this year? I'd love to see your RC in person. I'm up in Hartland, only about 20 minutes from Milford.

just make sure to not leave your hemi in drive while at stop lights and traffic jams . leave it in neutral . new generation hemi have oiling issues with long periods of low oil pressure when being gear and no moving. Add a can of BG oil RF-7 . it goes through the oiling system in the car and coats the moving metal with a super slick coating that stays on the parts with out clogging the filter or oiling system

Hi!! Great Build. I have a 86 I am planning right now for a 5.7 swap. Do you have a parts list or notes you would be willing to share?
@leonardemanuelson65072 жыл бұрын
Out of all the swap videos on Gen III Hemis, yours is by far the best! I’m swapping a 2015 Challenger R/T 5.7 8-speed into a ‘56 T-Bird. Lots of your info crosses over to all swaps. My only question: why not use a factory harness and related components like throttle pedal, shifter etc? Would that be easier and retain more functions (fan, a/c, etc)?
@threedeucesfab92212 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the compliment. I did not have the donor car and also the wiring can be a nightmare. The crate kit uses about 6 wires to connect and you are up and running. As far as the fan if i chose to use a conventional fan and not a PWM (pulse width modified) fan the crate kit runs that too. The crate kit supplies the pedal and as far as shifter the center console stick shifter from a challenger would be hard to implement into my interior.
@leonardemanuelson65072 жыл бұрын
@@threedeucesfab9221 thanks, I have the ENTIRE Challenger harness, ECUs and fuse block. I’m going to try to install the Challenger fuel pump in the T-Bird tank too. Thanks for uploading your video. I saw you post a link in the FB group 'Dodge truck Hemi swap' and followed from there. I do have a question, and that is: you said you used the Holley engine mounts but then stated Bouchillon. Im led to believe that the Holley sets the entire engine 1.5" forward for firewall and booster clearance, and that Bouchillon does the canted block mount. Thoughts?

I used Bouchillon mounts. Worked great. I had the front clip off so the engine slid right in. I didn't need to loosen the brake booster or anything like that. I wouldn't ever use that motor ever again. Because everyone we've had always loss a quart of oil every thousand miles . It didn't leak or smoke even are new one did it also.
