Did you notice I was wearing two different straw hats during this episode? 🕵♀ And that's without counting the hat added in post for the bloopers! 😅

I was a full time musician most of my life, playing rock music, then into jazz during the 1990s (while I was also bar tending). I noticed in the beginnings of your videos you slide out a copy of "Cocktail International" (not sure which volume) by Claudius Alzner. I had to look it up on Spotify, I'd never heard of it before. What a great series of albums they put out from the late 60's and through the 70s. This type of "easy listening" music, along with classic jazz and the "American Songbook" was always playing on the stereo while I was going up at my parent's house in the 70s. Very nostalgic feeling now. Really enjoying your presentations of craft cocktails as well. Great channel. Keep up the good work. Cheers....Iver from Boston

I have made coffee and orange bitters, but the second cook of the solids (peels) is not something I have done before. I’ll have to try it out! I have also been successful using sous video to speed up the process, particularly for coffee bitters. Why wait weeks when you can have it in hours?
@KevinKos4 жыл бұрын
Great! I love making them as well. The second part is great so you dont mix your high proff bitters with water and lose aroma in this the process. I also use sous vide but only for the second part of infusing solids in water. Using Sous vide don't give me the control over the aromas in my bitters, but is quicker way as you said. On my opinion, same as good aged spirit, some things in our industry just have to wait and settle down for the best results. Thanks for watching my channel!

Awesome video man, love your channel! Worst part about being American - we can’t get Havana Club here 😩 I had a bottle of Havana Club when I brought it back after an overseas trip but now I need another solid white rum for drinks like this. Any recommendations? Plantation has been my favorite but I’d love to see if you suggest anything.
@KevinKos4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! As you said, Plantation is great. Have you tried Diplomatico Planas? It has so nice coconut and almond notes. I also like Angostura rums, 1919 being my favourite one from their house.
@rohan45264 жыл бұрын
@@KevinKos I’ve tried the Angostura, and that’s a definitely good one. But I’ll have to check out the Diplomático! Thanks for the suggestion.
