Y’all got your hands on a great selection of pedals and sampled them masterfully. This is likely the best library I’ve heard yet for this style. Beautifully done.

Congrats on such feature rich programming some of them seem so convenient and useful i imagine it would be hard fo work without them on any other interface (fadein reverb and polyphonic selective pitch bending are the two that immediately come to mind). Forgot to mention that the sounds are great too. Very tempted :) bravo and thank you for a cleanly detailed breakdown.

Sounds awesome! Would be cool if it included a DI patch/ option. Pass for me on this one. Not every guitar vst includes round robins or multisamples, so being able to use ones that do include those with DI is always amazing as it makes it more versatile for the user. I understand the reason for not including it tho ✌ and love ur team's work. Can't wait to hear the future libraries from you. Thanks for the presentation!

A lot of composers own an electric guitar, so our aim for this library was to go beyond that, to provide our community with an inspiring toolset of ambient sounds that requires no additional processing in the box. Though completely understand if you prefer to do that processing yourself- thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Andre! There are no whammy bar effects in this library, but you've still got plenty of FX choices from pitch bending, to tape effects.

Hi, Fracture Sounds team: How to remove the guitar tone in that Kontakt library? I'm very interested in the pad instrument only. Thank in advance for your reply.
@davidsiddle3700 Жыл бұрын
Hi, is there any information on how the guitar tones were created i.e. guitar type, settings, amps/pedals? I'd like to play the guitar part myself and use the atmospheres from Hemisphere to sit around it. I couldn't see a manual on your web page; sorry if I missed it! p.s. Simeon brought me here!
@fracturesounds Жыл бұрын
Great question! We used a Fender Strat and Fender Tele, going through mostly clean amp settings. The playing techniques vary per tone - for example the 'Delicate' tone was a Strat played with fingers, on the middle-neck pickup position. The 'Twang' tone was a Tele played with a pick, on the middle pickup position, going through a very slightly driven amp setting. The fx/pedals vary on each tone, but in general, a good algorithmic reverb (e.g. a Big Sky / Blackhole) will go a long way, and also a subtle stereo chorus. Hope that helps!

@@fracturesounds Thanks for your helpful reply. I have never been a gigging musician and have very little knowledge about building a guitar tone, so I will have a go using these suggestions.

Are you feeding the signal into a Mastering bus ..i.e. having some limiter, eq, and compression? Thanks.
@fracturesounds Жыл бұрын
There is a protective limiter on the master channel to catch any stray peaks, but it's barely doing anything. And there's no EQ or compression (other than on the voiceover). Thanks!

To create a truly realistic guitar instrument, especially fingerstyle guitar, it is essential to incorporate hammer-ons and pull-offs. This is a crucial factor that sets apart professional, realistic versions of guitar plugins from the rest. It's a shame that this falls short, I like the tones.
@esongsore Жыл бұрын
While I get your point, I'd say those of us who work in the ambient and cinematic spaces do not require hammer-ons and pull-offs. Haven't owned a tonne of guitar libraries in the past that were created to serve our genre, I'd give this a 95% without hesitation. In fact, I will go as far as arguing that the layers alone (minus the guitar sound) are worth the asking price.
@TonyByte Жыл бұрын
@@esongsore Hammer-ons and pull-offs can enhance the sound by creating smoother and more fluid transitions between notes, resulting in a more connected and melodic sound. These techniques are particularly effective in the ambient genre using fingerstyle, where a sense of flow and continuity is often key. Hammer-ons can also add a percussive quality to the sound, creating a sense of urgency or intensity that can be especially impactful in ambient music. Similarly, pull-offs can add a subtle, melodic quality to the sound, enhancing the expressiveness and dynamic range of the performance. These techniques add texture possibilities, dynamic options, and uniqueness of expression for each of us. While virtual instruments may not replicate the nuances of playing a real instrument, they offer convenience and flexibility, allowing musicians to experiment with different sounds and textures. That said, not all virtual instruments are created equal. Some are more realistic and expressive than others. In the case of this particular virtual guitar instrument, the developers clearly aimed for realism, but in my opinion, they fell short. If we were discussing pick scrapes or other rock articulations, I would agree with you. However, while this instrument has its uses, depth and expressiveness could be improved, particularly when it comes to techniques like hammer-ons and pull-offs.
@fracturesounds Жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, thanks for your feedback! Our aim here wasn't to try and replicate the nuances of an electric guitar- an instrument that many composers own and can play outside of the box. Our goal here was to create a toolbox of ambient and cinematic soundscapes that cut down the process of discovery required in the real world, through pedal manipulation and processing. Yes, the pitch bend settings and reverb fade-in knob allows you to create greater realism than most e.guitar libraries, but essentially it's a quick and inspiring instrument to add texture and atmosphere to your soundtracks rather than your classic "electric guitar" sound. I'd encourage you to listen to our composer demos to get a feel for what the library can achieve: soundcloud.com/fracture-sounds/sets/hemisphere-guitars-demo-tracks? All the best, Angus
@TonyByte Жыл бұрын
@@fracturesounds Thank you for responding. I understand your perspective and aim. Using my own guitar is irrelevant. I believe tracks like your examples, where clearly the composers aimed for realism of guitar, would sound fantastic with the added texture and dynamic options. They would have used the hammer-ons and pull-offs and the guitar wouldn't sound anymore "classic" than it already does; it would sound less stiff during the fingerstyle portions. I now understand that it will never happen but thank you. I'll continue to process the virtual guitars that I own. It's not particularly difficult, I just liked the tones and texture layers of your instrument out of the box because, yes, you used quality hardware. Angus, two things can be true at once: 1. The tones are an amazing collection of pedal manipulation and processing saving time. 2. The music created with this instrument would be enhanced SIGNIFICANTLY with the addition of hammer-ons and pull-offs.
