Hi Isabel! I love it, thank you so much. I made it and i think because of the hemp ib used, it was kind of wobbly...? Could that be it? Or maybe i need a smaller needle? Because it doesn't stand on its own, it flattens down. Or maybe i can use some wire to keep it up? I would like to use the same hemp again. Thank you!
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind message and for trying this tutorial. About your question, yes, it could be that your hemp is a little softer. You have different options. You can try using a smaller hook as you suggest. The wire could work as well, I have one tutorial for another basket kzbin.info/www/bejne/epTLpmCIp9Ksgc0 that could guide you if you want to carry a thread/wire in between the stitches. Another option is to try making the basket with crochet knit stitch kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZy1mZaObNVnd5o that will definitely tighten the structure but you may have to make more rounds for the bottom and then more rounds to reach the height you need. Sorry for the long reply, hope it helps 💐🤗🧶

Lovely video thank you. I am using pure jute to crochet with, and it smells so strongly of petrol/kerosene. Apparently some jute is treated with an oil to preserve it. Does anyone have any advice for removing this odour? Thank you.
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Happy you like the design. Same here with jute, it also comes with that kind of smell. I have no specific suggestion on how to reduce it, maybe just over time it starts fading. Hemp yarn used for this tutorial has no smell at all though and is super soft 😊🌹

Do i need to hemp wool to make this so i can have two strands?
@miaz13995 жыл бұрын
I mean 2*
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns5 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, you can use other type of yarn and also hold two strands at the same time, the use of two strands is just to make the stitches sturdier, as if you were working with a thicker wool. Thanks so much for watching 😉
@miaz13995 жыл бұрын
Chabepatterns thank you for replying ❤️ but how do i use two strands at the same time do i need 2 separate wools
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use two separate balls of yarn, or if you're using a skein of yarn where there us a thread coming from the outside and another from the inside center of the ball you can use both at the same time 😉😃

Hi Roxane, thanks so much for your two messages, I'm so happy to know you like my channel and the tutorials, I will keep on making and sharing more of them for you to enjoy, thank for subscribing, it means a lot to me!! About making the basket larger, yes, you can keep on making more rounds with the 4 corner increase to make the square base bigger for a larger basket.
@KB-ze2vq4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Since this is stitched in the round, does that mean the final edge really isn't even?
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns4 жыл бұрын
Yes, when closing last round, last stitch will be a little more elevated 😉
@gracedavies74377 жыл бұрын
Hi , thanks for great video, also could you adapt this to make it bigger?
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns7 жыл бұрын
Hi Grace, thanks so much for visiting. Yes, you could make it as big as yo want, just continue making rounds with increases in each corner until you have the desired base size. Then make the number of rounds up that are necessary to cover the contents. Have a great day! :)
@braiana10157 жыл бұрын
Hi! How many single crochets do I need from the start to make a bigger basket sized 12 by 12? Btw, I just made 3 baskets in three days, thanks a lot!
@MariaIsabelchabepatterns7 жыл бұрын
Hi Honey, great to know you have made so many baskets!! :D Thanks so much for watching!! You would need to start the same way, then make more rounds with increases in each corner until you reach the desired size for the base, I think this could be about 6 or 7 rounds more but it will depend on the yarn you use and your crocheting. Have a great day!!

It's not really for beginners,after making a corner it's not clear where to make the next single crochet. Right next to the crochet with corner or the further next? If I make it how you explain then I have a square but a lot wavy which means more crochets than it should be.
