To be honest the seeds of this were there toward the end of last season we reached 3 cup finals and failed to score a goal in all 3 games In fact if look at the fa cup and CL final both games were similar. First 25 Mins much better team then the legs would go the difference was momentum was getting us results League games villa, wolves , spurs The Liverpool press was struggling So this was coming a number of our midfield just didn't have it and we did nothing about it .. Injuries haven't helped but the failure to land a top quality midfielder has come back to bite us had we got hold of one I think we'd be in a far far better position now ..

Over the past 5 seasons, Trent has played up the pitch like that. It's only becoming so much more noticeable now because we lose the ball so much in stupid areas, don't have the press to win it back or close down spaces after losing it, and midfielders not having as much energy to cover for Trent. I agree with Brent about Trent and joe gomaz, play trent right mid field, utilise his attacking skills and with cover behind his defense would be ok, On the ratings i'd have given Trent more than a 2 or 3, defensively a 2 or 3 attacking a 6 or 7 so slightly higher over all. Im not a tsimikas fan at this point. As said, the whole mid field look lost this season, no one knows who is pressing, no one follows players which is why we are getting cut apart. I also agree Liverpool almost at the point of play the younger players and build for next season.

We should get rid of all the injury prone players. They will always get worse with time bc of lack of training bc of injuries, permanent damage to their muscles tissues. And finally loss in muscle memory and rhythm...also have to retrain the body to a new rhythm bc the body can't perform the same physically

I don’t believe it’s fsg anymore, if you look at when Klopp came in he had plenty of players to sell and change to what he wanted squad wise. The owners haven’t failed to provide cash and a huge wage budget, possibly not enough but still the cash has been there Klopp is at a point now where he’s having to replace players he’s bought and guys he’s close to, most managers struggle with this, it just seems that since winning the league the reload hasn’t happened, the squad has continued to be worked to death

For the life of me , I'm at a loss ascto why he's been shunned by Klopp. I was genuinely shocked by his omission when I'd read the team sheet . As you say Craig , no rational mind would start Ox over Fabio, nor for that matter Hendo over Keita . To be brutally honest, Hendo , Ox & Milner shouldn't be even in the same postcode as the starting line up . The fact that they are & repeatedly feature, is an Absolute Disgrace. A testament not only to Klopp's scrambled mind but FSG'S neglect .

They looked spent as a team after the 1- 1 draw at anfield against Tottenham..towards the end of last season...They looked dead on their feet, klopp had a face like thunder...as he knew the had blown the league.. Then they huffed and puffed in the CL final..they did well to catch up to city in the league..but they were running themselves ragged..no way can an aging squad keep that up season after season.. Then they allow their best player Mane to leave.. Why didn't they give him the money he was asking for...and they let Divrok Origi go...who was an excellent servant to the club...who could drag the team out of a game by grabbing a goal or two, he's a big miss too... The squad needs a a massive overhaul.

I don’t know why but the optimist in me has a feeling one of two things is going on. Klopp is purposely starting XIs like this with poor performances, to put him in a better negotiating position with the owners to sign a midfielder. And the second thing is that he has something else planned like 4-4-2 against Real Madrid and this would make us less predictable. I really hope we can turn things around but we really need at least one midfielder to freshen things up in this window and then another 1 or 2 in the next

Klopp really needs to change the system now. The amount of chances teams are creating against us is insane. Need to shore up at the back. Continuing with the same tactics/system will see Liverpool fall further behind. This club needs massive investment to the squad and that won't happen under FSG. Unless Klopp signs one or two major signings this month then he'll need to sit down and have a big rethink about the high line otherwise he may just wave a white flag before every game.
