Interesting emerger pattern. That dubbing looks synthetic. You actually prefer it to rabbit, mink, muskrat or other natural dubbing? Also have you tried snowshoe rabbit for the wing area to replace the cdc? You may find it more bouyant, more durable and simply better to use. Just a few thoughts😀

Thanks for the comment. I don’t think the dubbing matters too much. As long as the fly sits right in the water, I’m good with it. On snowshoe vs cdc, personally I like CDC but I have some snowshoe on the channel, and it’s a great material too. And again, I really don’t think it matters. It’s all about that drag free cast 👍. We can get them to eat anything as long as the presentation is 👌. 😉

Nick Mango Thanks for response. I just prefer natural dubbings and don’t care for cdc. Your conclusion about presentation is true. If proportions cause fly to land unnaturally and/or presentation lousy, chances are not good. Interesting emerger pattern. Thanks.
