Hope you like my dining room table ................................I have continued detailing the superstructure and fittings . My idea is to keep as much of the original structure good bits , throw away the electrics and remodel the rest , I added doors , rebuilt funnels (the red ones are a bit obvious as Dickies , right ?) moved liferaft cannisters , moved the main towing winch forwards to give a longer quarterdeck and better proportions , planked in ply .
Inside , the 6v lead acid cell sits exactly in the "water tank" space , nice and low down to stop that rolling .
The 60T crawler motor is epoxied onto a ply platform using the plastic "screw towers" already there to locate it , a proper Caldercraft tube and shaft (with oiler) and a 4 bladed Robbe tug prop , trimmed down to fit the Kort nozzle . ( original prop is very small for nozzle .) The rudder mechanism and servo are mounted on plywood platform , using original mountings wherever possible . The motor is bedded into silicon bath sealant , in case I need to remove it . The reciever will be installed in 1st floor cabin to keep well above water level ! Video to follow , I have a very small area to sail in so it is impossible to sail and film at the same time !
