Henk went WAY out of his comfort zone for this. He is an opera singer, through and through. He's performed many operas, many arias, and was the Phantom in the Dutch production of Phantom of the Opera (and is Andrew Lloyd Webber's FAVORITE Phantom). In the conversation for this, he stated that if he ever were to use distortion in his voice while performing an opera, he would get fired for it, as opera singers have to have clarity in their voice. He learned how to use distortion within 4 hours of performing this, as this was his first time EVER singing with distortion. And as you can tell with Disturbed's cover, that's a lot to live up to. And with the look of Floor's face, it's safe to say he did a really good job of it.

He was performing FOR Floor. It was the episode with her on the central couch. You`d watch Emma performing Strong, Samantha - Our Decades in the Sun, Tim - Nemo and Ruben - They Dance Alone. Each performance was very emotional for our valkyrie.

The show takes 7 singers from 7 different genres. Every episode one of them is placed on the hotseat and the other 6 will sing a song to him/her on the hotseat. They can pic a song from a list which is made up from the person in the hotseat. The song can be the person his/her song or something with a good or emotional memory. The 8th and last episode is the duet episode. Each singer have to choose one of the other 6 to do a duet with. It is no contest, just an intimate gathering and honor the person in the hotseat and ending with fun making in the last episode. The most interesting part is that singers have to go out their confort zone of their own style of singing or change the song to make it their own. What you saw was the 2019 season, the 2020 season just has finished and my most popular song is from Miss Montreal singing Door de wind.

You seem to have missed what was happening. In the show beste zangers, a group of singers sing songs specially for each other, this one was the episode where they all sang to Floor and Henk picked Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence specially to perform this for Floor. He even had to learn to sing with distortion for this song, that he later did that also in Phantom that he and Floor performed together, was just a bonus.

This is the ultimate respect Henk is showing Floor. Being a pro opera singer he had never used distortion before - but for Floor - Henk would cross the ocean in slippers. They became close friends during the show. In the first episode Henk was teasing the other singers, about hiw he was looking forward to hear them perform opera for him ( he started in the chair, meaning the others should ding for him) - and none of them really didn't know much about Floor, other than she was a metal singer. Floor started as the first singer - singing Vilja Lied - opera for Henk. Talk about a studio in chok. She set the bar so high - they were shocked and Henk got his opera. All episodes are on the net with English subtitles
