Internet Guy, I can agree how you think it is annoying, however even though you can’t control the tone and the pianoforte and future pianos have been a great improvement in sound and tone, the harpsichord can keep a kind of unique sound that feels like it is bringing you back century’s with its tangy sound, that is why it sounds so in spot with this song

I have heard this a thousand times and, hell, it gives me the goosebumps all over again. Take 11:01-11:17: it's as if one note is pinned down for ever-and-ever and the rest of music whirls and whirls and whirls around it, unable to escape, and then it is released, and up it goes and flies again, up and down and up and down in this cosmic rollercoaster. I feel sorry for everyone who has never heard this.

I agree on the speed, especially in the andate. I love it when the lead up to the high note in measure 15 is stretched out a little.

This is on the easy side of classical. It’s only Grade 8 in ABRSM (1st mvt), and anyone with effort can master this. Playing this piece is not extremely hard, but mastering it and be able to play it musically and beautifully is hard af, especially for Bach.

Your writing is sub level 8: You can’t say anyone can master it and then that mastering it is rare. It’s illogical. You mean anyone can learn to play this but mastering it is rare.

I remember when I played this concerto in my late teens. But see, now in my 40s I feel I played it better, not necessarily because the skill level but because I add to the music, LIFE Experiences, wins and loses, feelings of hope and despair. The music will be a live demonstration of life experiences when it is played by an older musician.
@M_SC

That’s a meaningless story. Yes the player needs experience but it’s not emotional life experience they need, it’s musical experience. If you’ve heard a great deal of music and tried to play different ways, that’s the experience you need. Edit: I also played this when I was 12 and am now in my 40s, for what that’s worth.

Very convincing in many ways and rather exciting. Nice and bold for a change without affectation. Not entirely to my taste but so bloody what. I've yet to find a recording on period instruments that's entirely satisfactory.
