This is the reason why I find it hard to get hyped for Aquaman and Shazam, because WB just continues to show how incompetent they are with these characters and the cinematic universe they are in. @odblog they gave Superman one solo movie in the DCEU and he was barley developed in that, and those three Batman movies which I assume ur talking about the Nolan Trilogy doesn't exist in the DCEU, which means the development of Batman in that trilogy does not have any connections to Ben Affleck's Batman in the DCEU which means what happened in that trilogy doesn't count in the DCEU. Like I said man they rushed it trying to play catch up with Marvel, and with that they are in the mess that they are in sadly.

@odblog it was an origin story that really in my opinion didn't develop him that much, granted I thought he was handled a little bit better than in Batman v Superman but still wasn't all that well developed to me. They could have still made another Batman movie in the DCEU, they don't have to tackle the parents murder thing cause even I a die hard Batman fan didn't want to keep seeing that shit, we all have seen it enough, but if u are going to bring up the fact that he already had a partnership with Robin that part needs to be developed instead of just being used as a comic book reference with no weight behind it. A proper development for him in his solo movie could have made us help us understand him more and have a better reason to hate Superman, instead of both of them hating on each other for the exact same reason, which made the two look hypocritical. If ur not going to develop them properly then what's the point of even doing these characters in the first place if there is no emotional weight behind them that will make us be emotionally invested in their battle in the movie. They should have saved Batman v Superman for when they were trully ready to handle it properly.

It’s unfair to Cavill, he’s been such a trooper, showing lots of support, professionalism, and loyalty to WB and his co-workers, not even bad-mouthing them in the slightest, regardless of how controversial the films and some of the behind-the-scene decisions might be. DCEU and WB need to focus on the writing. you've got a stable of good characters in DC comics, you just have to create a solid narrative (or reference the comic stories).

Superman needs to be recast. While I don't think it was Henry Cavill's fault for the way the cinematic version of the character turned out - since it was more a problem of the writing and direction - Cavill's reputation is still inextricably linked with a morose Superman. This was off putting to the general audience, who normally associates Superman with optimism. Hence, to remove the association, DC is going to have to cast another actor that does not have that stigma. Hopefully the next person they cast in the role can balance the look of Superman, which Cavill achieved to perfection, along with being directed and written in such a way that he can convey the bright eyed positive personality and innocence, which Christopher Reeve brought to the role.

Michael B. Jordan wouldn’t be a bad Superman, but it’d be kinda hard to see him as the meek country boy, Clark Kent. I’ve just seen him in too many roles where he’s playing cool urban, street characters for me to get that image out of my head. I’d buy him as Superman, but as Clark, it’d be a bit hard to get used to, though, he is a great actor and could pull it off. Now, Michael as Superman could also mean that he’s possibly playing the alternate universe counterpart, Calvin Ellis, who’s black and a president, so the casting would make sense.

DCEU started out so well with Man of Steel, which was a huge risk after Singer's film flopped. Instead of talking their time to world build and give Supes another Solo film, here comes Batman.Followed by the others, tossed into DOJ. It was doomed to fail and it did.

Thing is, if DC doesnt get it by now, they never will. Man of Steel was good. Wonder Woman was great. Shazam and Aquaman LOOK promising, but the studio has made way too many dumb moves by now to go back. They don't have a plan, they don't have a strategy, they SQUANDERED the characters who were their cash cows (Trinity = Batman,Superman, WW) in Justice League, a watchable film, but in the end, the audience collectively said "NOOOOOOOPE!" Either way, their fucked. Maybe with Shazam and Aquaman's and wonder Woman 1984's possible success, they can take a break, craft a good overarching story, bring Superman and Batman back (as characters, it doesnt have to be Cavill or Affleck, even though I'll miss Cavill....Affleck's in rehab atm, so....he's done for now). The one thing they SHOULD DO AT THIS POINT WHICH IS CRITICAL TO THEIR CONTINUED SUCCESS: Listen. To. Their. Fans. We wanted another solo superman film, and we wanted Cavill in the role. They took too fucking long to move on it, Cavill knew it, he said "Oh, okay, Im gonna have to get a side gig or two." Well.....I guess that's Holywood. Never played The Witcher before, but I guess nows a good time to get up to sepeed on this, lmao! They should have waited till they found a director who has an interesting idea for Superman rather than just recycle Dark Knight. And also reintroduce Batman with a flim before they made Batman v Superman

I personally think they are in too deep to do a full reboot. Marvel got away with rebooting one character (Spider-Man) and I think DC could do the same with Batman. Skip the origin story part of Batman and maybe tell a story involving Batgirl or Nightwing or Red Hood. I agree with what they said about Supergirl. She could come in an sort of replace Superman to a degree. But I think without Superman you have to ditch the Lois Lane, the Martha Kent, the whole Daily Planet part (drop the whole Jesse Eisenberg Lex Luthor, I still think he was trying to play that role like he was the Joker and not Lex) and pull from other Superman/Supergirl stuff. Brainiac stands out as a good option . They could easily just have a new actor for Batman show up in another superhero's movie. If they wanted to do a Batgirl movie they could do that and have Batman show up for a couple mins here or there or at the end. Or Batman could just show up in Flashpoint. But Wonder Woman is a great casting job with Gadot and the movie was successful her sequel is likely to be very successful. I think Aquaman has potential to be very successful as do Shazam and Flashpoint, or even Cyborg. I don't think you can abandon that. It won't be the same without Superman for sure but Supergirl can almost fill that void. The Lois Lane part of the Henry Cavill Superman is too integral. I don't think you can replace Superman without also having to replace Lois, it would just not fit. If they did decide to bring in a different actor for Superman they could go the Superman/Wonder Woman romance route that some of the animated stuff has done. They could also use Lana Lang and use an Asian actress which would generate more interest in the Asian market which is a big part of cinema now. Don't want to use the whole female lead excuse but currently DC has one female who was the lead in her own film. Marvel has yet to release one. Black Widow and Scarlet Witch are very much B tier Avengers. DC could take advantage of that and be like bam here's a Supergirl and a Batgirl movie. There are so many good Batman related stories and villain and I just hate to see Joker overused. Anyone who is a fan of animated DC movies the Joker somehow ends up the villain in half the Batman films. Just my random thoughts. Might not run out to the theater for any of those movies but would eventually get around to seeing all of them once bluray releases.

I loooooved the Nolan trilogy (ok, I liked TDKR) but it would have been a tall task to build a universe on it based on the other DC superheroes (like putting somebody like Green Lantern in a Nolan universe just doesn't work). That trilogy should just stand on its own. What was the mistake was to bring back Batman and rely on Superman to start the DCEU. They should have been brought along later down the line. I think DC/WB just thought two would be enough to bring audiences in. If they had focused on a lesser known superhero in their roster, they would have been forced to put some actual effort on the writing.
