Think of things from his perspective. He's an incredibly attractive man, but also really erudite, has a lot of interest, is incredibly optimistic, hardworking etc. He actually has a ton of amazing qualities, but women can't see past their own lust. I completely understand his reticence around women much of the time. They treat him like meat. Can you imagine dudes talking to Scarlett Johannson like that?

@@mcaesario I'm all for closing the pay gap, a female president, and dressing women in scanty clothing if it doesn't even make sense-and for all we know, Henry is, as well. Doesn't mean that makes it okay to objectify him-or any other man-to the point where it clearly makes him uncomfortable. That's just disrespectful. And frankly, that's an unhelpful attitude with regards to fighting sexism. Everyone should be treated equally good, not equally bad. Your statement and "If WoMeN wAnT tO bE tReAtEd EqUaLlY, dOeS tHaT mEaN I cAn HiT wOmEn?" are pretty much two sides of the same coin.

This makes me think of an interview Quentin Taratino recently gave about working with Brad Pitt. He said something like, "This is the best time to work with Brad. He's older now and doesn't get bogged down with people who only focus on him being a young sex symbol anymore. Brad's still good looking, but he gets to be acknowledged and revered for how talented of an actor he is for a change." I hope Henry stays around Hollywood in enough high profile roles to get to that same level that Brad's in now.

"just being silent is the best response sometimes"--exactly this, especially in the moment. It's what a lot of people who experience sexual harassment end up having to resort to and part of why the #MeToo movement was so important. It created space to talk about all those times staying silent was the best or only reasonable option people had.

I dont think he's hurt, I don't see hurt in his eyes at all. What i do see is embarrassment, if you've ever been complimented at all by anyone, you'll feel embarrassed, it's normal. This implies several things: either 1) your self esteem is low, 2) you're uncomfortable being held up to a standard of perfection or beauty, 3) you were spoon fed humility and every time a compliment is thrown at you, you wrestle with how to accept it gracefully without being a total asshat or looking self centered (the meek/humble mannerisms he does when he's being complimented is universally very charming), 4) you're tired of people talking about your looks, but given #3 (you were spoon fed humility), making your exasperation known to the audience is an asshat move so you repress it and learn to live with it, or 5) you dont really think your face is THAT great so its kinda weird everyone else thinks so, so your reaction is kind of like "Stop it, you're being silly" (which falls under meek/humble, which is very charming), or any combination of these or other reasons. Getting fed compliments is not bullying. It's embarrassing and awkward and cringey for almost everyone to be complimented, and this is a natural reaction. Most of the time, the one paying the compliment feels awkward because you feel awkward for being complimented, so they try to fix it by expanding on more flattery, which makes shit worse for the everyone involved, this is also normal. Bullying is when you seriously mock someone, and insult them in order to get a negative reaction, to hurt their feelings. The complex psychological process that lead to reactionary embarrassment from being genuinely complimented is not bullying. Being touched by other people, on the other hand, can be an invasion of privacy, and it can be really annoying especially if you lean towards the introverted side like Henry, but as far as I can see it's only really been his coworkers that have been up in his business and they've worked months with each other to have the relationship to be able to do that to each other. Amy or Gal lightly slapping him on the arm/squeezing his biceps has the same energy as Jason Momoa sneaking up behind Henry Cavill on the red carpet and fucking hugging him from behind at the waist (some would argue that Jason Momoa's action is way worse on the awkward scale, but I've never seen anyone complain about this as "harassment"), some people are just touchy and have different boundaries, and being "touched" happens with or without attraction (case in point, stalkers sometimes never touch the people they stalk but they're still fucking creepy and their actions DO fall under harassment, meanwhile men in many asian cultures are more likely to hold hands with their MALE best friends platonically than a girl that they've just begun dating.) Many of his fans off camera, and the interviewers ASK him for a hug. Most people swallow their discomfort because it's just a hug, if you don't like it, you need to say so, and if they DON'T stop, then you can say for certain that it is harassment and not just miscommunication. If someone is fucking pinching his nipples, grabbing his ass or his dong, or rubbing his thighs, arms, back, whatever body part too long, or if someone directly tells him that they want to climb him like a tree and fuck him or anything overtly sexual despite their INSISTENCE that they want nothing to do with it, then THAT is sexual harassment. If they tie you up and duct tape your mouth (either physically or metaphorically through blackmail or coercion) so that you can't refuse or consent to their advances, then that's straight up a crime and you need some serious help.

Karlito Bandito Time to say goodbye to that common sense then. They already announced Tom Hardy will be the next Bond. Henry is a much better fit, since his height and natural weight (without all the Superman muscle) are almost identical to the description of James Bond in the novels, but oh well. My guess is Henry being so popular lately, between The Witcher, playing Superman in upcoming cameos and possible sequels, and other movies like Enola Holmes, that MGM wanted someone that would be easier to tie-down for a multi-picture contract, like Tom Hardy. To my knowledge, his only project right now is Venom 2, although I’m sure he has other stuff going on too.

It is either “a nerd” or a “God looking man”. People are stupid enough to go that extremes and never see anything in between. Like what a man is? Nothing but muscles and looks, right? I am not even talking about his acting, it is about personality: he helps old grannys cross the road, he is well-taught, smart, has good manners, knows etiquette (apparently)… it is almost like nobody sees that in him. That’s just pathetic.

As much as I want to be Henry and respectfully envy his height and looks (as a male) I would honestly be pretty upset if I was a top tier actor and worked so hard to get to that point, and all people talked about was my looks. It’s seems like people just make it seem like his success is only because of his looks. But let me tell you, in my opinion this guy is the best Superman. There is no one that embodies super man more than Henry, same with Chris Evan’s and captain America.

Frankly I don't care if someone makes a sexual joke or a sleazy comment, people are too soft and can't take what they dish it. Let people show themselves for who they really are rather than filtering what they say, if someone turns out to be a piece of sh*t they'll announce it to everyone else by the way they behave anyway.

You forgot the "with delight". "The fans will be ABSOLUTELY wetting their pants with delight", kinda awkward to listen to if you're the one receiving it. Now imagine scarlett johansson got the very same comment from a host? The perverted thing would probably get a sexual assault restraining order, and will definitely be fired on his job. It's kinda sad that objectifying men in this era is acceptable but not for women. Henry is only viewed as a good actor by some, because of his good looks and not of his talent
