Profits can and are being ignored. Disney is openly insulting the fan base, it's posted repeated losses, the stock price continues to tank(down 50% from the high 3 years ago), and they refuse to change course. D&Ds is the same exact story(stock down 40%). An executive from D&D named Kyle Brink went so far as to say, 'white men can't leave D&D fast enough'(white males are 70-80% of their customers). All this time I thought that after a few losses, they'd change course, but they all keep doubling down. I don't get it.

Space Marine 2 also had a sprinkler of DEI in it. The Ultra marines we’ve seen in books, games, animation or magazines were all white. This is the first outing of a chapter having the full united colors of beneton. The first Cadian in charge we meet is Female. Now ill also say that i dont mind. As long as it makes logical sense. But Im not fooled to not see its there.

That's an ironic mistake that a lot of people make. It takes the same number of steps and the same kind of work hours. The computer server time can easily rival costume budget numbers. CGI's strength, outside of doing shots that are virtually impossible to do safely, is the ability to finish things in post. Practical effects have to be finalized and produced before production can begin. Hollywood producers like CGI because it puts more creative control in their hands rather than with the artists during preproduction.

glad someone else figures the guardsmen is the easiest way to get what they want. they could also use Sisters of Silence that have yet to take their vows. i remember folks saying they are allowed to talk before they take their vows. So, a chapter of Novices.. a single Vowed Sister who uses sign language (one extra ticked box) who comunicates with guards via the Novices. you can have trench warfare. an over-run world. focus on the guards rather than the xenos or orkie bois. (i dont mean go drama channel, i mean film-wise focus. you dont shoot from the back or the front, but from the side, getting glimpses only of the enemy as they come at the guards from off screen. you can use sounds and damage to convey more than visuals in this case) drop a small group of Marines right at the end, to help save the day. even just a trio of them would work.

It depends on the script. If they are trying to do a space opera involving multiple planets it’s gonna be expensive but if it’s a story that’s building up then it won’t be terribly expensive. The new Dune came in under 225 million and Amazon threw 400 million plus at a lemon like Rings of Power. It can be done!

I just don’t get why they are so dead set on retconning females Custodes when there are great all female factions such as, the Sisters of Battle & Sisters of Silence. However, they for some reason don’t like them. I’ll even say “fine” about that maybe they just aren’t to their taste; that’s fine. Why can’t they just make a new faction? Games Workshop canonizes new factions all the time such as, the Retributers from the Astartes animation. If they want to make a new faction that they believe is good, I say go for it. However no one wants their favorite stories/factions retconned to fit some political agenda. That’s the beauty of the vast and expansive universe of 40k you can homebrew your own stuff and if it’s good enough other people will start to like it and then they become more relevant. For example if they were to make a story about a female imperial guardsman, sister of battle, or whatever that was super talented and the Council of Terra decided to capitalize on said talent and super charged her, maybe through a Saint Celestine gene-seed or something; I don’t think anyone would get upset about that, it sounds like something they would do.

you can have both for animation and live action via imposing faces onto characters. Not keeping a real face but sorta what they do in games like "man from maidan" and such. You keep recognizable actors/actresses without the weird scaling and weight issues of animation beside live characters...like the warcraft movie

Sure you could go animated buuuut.... The issue with it is Games Workshop wouldn't need Amazon or Henry Cavill for that to become a thing because they are already hard at work making animated movies, games, and content. (It's literally being used in the background ffs!) So the video's point is moot on it being animated by Amazon and voiced by Henry Cavill. A live action is the only thing that makes sense for Games Workshop to have any other parties involved at all because of the scale needed. Another thing is if that route is taken, you should involve the fans. The sheer amount of fans that make 40k life-size realistic props would speed up production times and increase the production value just from this alone. The 40K fanbase are creatives and would jump at the chance to be involved getting the live action movie off the ground.

It’s a misconception that ALL space Marines are brain washed heartless killers. There are plenty of in lore examples of them being humanized in multiple of the chapters. Like The Ultramarines and Salamanders. Even the Space wolves and blood angels value humanity more than tradition etc. hell Grimaldus a Black Templar earned respect for the Steel Legion and peoples of Armageddon.

Either Christmas came early or this video is cap. Also you don't need to make characters relatable in order to enjoy a story. Do try to relate to a rollercoaster before getting on it? No, you just get on it and enjoy the ride. Do you relate to the swimming pool before jumping in? No, you jump in the pool and have fun swimming. Stories are like vehicles that uses words and imaginations. With today tech, we can turn stories into visual moving art. Characters are parts of the engine of a story to help make it go somewhere. Where it goes? Dunno, but we will know if you get on board the ride and see how far it goes. To see how these characters react to different situations. Making them relatable is nice to have but not needed for a story. If you end up enjoying the ride, you are most likely seek the same ride again or something similar to it. Especially if it's a continuation of a previous story that you enjoyed.

Why do people keep saying Amazon is trying to introduce female custodians? GW introduced a canonical female custodian in the 10th edition of the codex almost a year and a half ago. Look i pretty much despise Amazon and yes you should not re-write characters that already exist in the lore. Expanding the lore as time goes on if it's done in a thoughtful way shouldn't be a problem. So what that GW added some women to the custodians? It's fiction!
