The glasses thing for Superman has been explained and even demonstrated in real life by Henry Cavill as an experiment. Pretty much as Clark, he wears baggie clothing, slouches so he looks shorter and changes the tone of his voice and cadence of his speech. Little changes that stack up to the point that even Lex Luthor dismissed the idea that Clark is Superman, even when given data

I feel like Henry Cavill could play a good Superman If they just let be the more kind and hopeful Superman instead of the sad and angsty Superman, not to mention from what I heard he's a pretty sweet and gentle man in real life. Problem was Snyder had negative interest in that part of the character. His vision for Superman was as a distant, brooding and unpredictable,... asshole. The return announcement and the the black Adam post credit scene amounted to promises made to the audience. The Snyder movies in my opinion wasted near perfect casting. Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa were the only ones who didn’t look ripped straight from the page. I find it heartbreaking that Ben, Gal, and Henry were wasted on such subpar movies because these 3 were the perfect cornerstones of a DC universe and I cannot imagine finding another 3 people who have the look from the jump.

I kind of got the opposite vibe for Supermans relation to the public in BVS - theres a clear division in the media over whether or not he's a force for good in the world or a ticking time bomb (which is really highlighted in the montage of him saving people). His whole arc in that film is about learning to sacrifice himself for humanity not because they fully believe in him, but because they DON'T fully believe in him. That's a pretty powerful arc for the character to go on.

Might get flack, but I honestly think people fell in love more with the potential he had the greatest, not because he was the greatest. Let’s be real, we didn’t appreciate Cavill enough when he was around. People hated MOS at first, BVS, and his dark tone. We didn’t start to care more until JL came out, and it showed the Superman we all wanted within the last 20 minutes, and he was rumored to be gone after that. Then we appreciated those movies a bit more Loved his Superman, but To be fair, he wasn’t given a fair shot at playing supes and being a part of a broken universe didn’t help. To us, he’s probably the best thing that never happened to this role. But I don’t think we really appreciated him enough until he left.

Henry Cavill is the perfect cast as Superman. He is a perfect modern Superman and the super suit is amazing. Seeing him as a kid raised by two earth people after his Krypton parents gave him a chance on earth where the Kent's called him son. Raised him right in a rural community. We see him struggling with his powers and holding back from using his powers against bullies, saving a bus after creening off the road into the water, discovering he is not from this world. People are divided on having a being with god like powers on their planet after the battle with general zod and despite him ending Zod before Zod ended people's lives. Now, Christopher Reeve Is Superman and Christopher if still alive would love to see Henry as the iconic character. It also bothered me that they would kill off Superman in BVS when he was starting his character development in the DCEU they could kept him flying around metropolis saving people and helping them. Introduced more characters other than Batman and wonder woman, the flash, green lantern, etc than down the light when Superman dies have them carry his casket like in the comics.

I gotta chime in here a bit, I'll say, while we disagree on quite a bit at least you're not just doing one note complaints like many others lazily do. But, in Man of Steel when Superman says "Kryptons had it's chance" he does hesitate showing he's an unsure hero. But while you compared it to a story in the comics, those were already living Kryptonians who were shrunken by Brainiac, not non living computerized fetuses. Superman didn't take hope away because there was no Krypton left to take that hope away. Just a group of psychotic soldiers. Batman v Superman shows a monument to the victims of those killed in the Black Zero event, Superman's statue represented the fact he ultimately saved the world. Now we do see in that montage that Superman is being forced into being a messiah, something he didn't want. As one of the interviewees are heard saying "Maybe he's just a guy trying to do the right thing" & we can see we as human beings can't just allow that. The cameos in the film were done pretty well in my opinion and considering the fact that Snyder originally wanted to do a Man of Steel sequel and opened up to adding Batman, the way he incorporated Wonder Woman and to a leaser extent the rest was handled well. Doing the Death of Superman story I think took a lot of guts. Yes, in the comics the idea of Superman dying was handled way different, you also had a few years (just from the Post Crisis continuity) of stories. Here we can understand that he's been operating for a couple of years now and yes even saving cats from trees and we can understand why the world would mourn. Snyder and the writers never wanted to treat the audience like they were idiots. They all knew we knew Superman, so why waste screen time on showing him doing pointless saves just so you know he does good when a montage and the world saving events are sufficient enough? Now you are right in how WB handled everything so wrong. They liked Snyder's vision and quickly went back because of fan outrage instead of working through it so they can see where it was goibg. I mean, Iron Man 3 was divisive too (I love this film) but Marvel didn't just cancel everything moving forward. Yes they made a slight adjustment but nothing to effect any film further and cause an unbalance. WB on the other hand forced an edit on two films while completely changing the tone of the other one. With Zack Snyder's Justice League, the Black suit worked the same way as it did in the comics, though slightly different we see him putting the suit on and going out to the Sun to absorb it and get even stronger. I mean, again Snyder knew that fans of the comics would know what the suit was. But it also showed him choosing to embrace both sides of himself. The future "Evil" Superman having his normal suit was always going to be something that would happen. He was not going to forever wear that black suit. The romance between Lois and Clark was better represented here, but I do agree the line of dialogue in Man of Steel and the kiss felt forced, BVS & ZSJL felt more organic. But I disagree with you on the Reeves film doing a bettet job at their romance because Lois and Clark are both shown to be simps, at no point is their attraction warranted outside of physical attraction and him saving her. Lois comes off as shallow as her Golden Age self, dismissive of Clark and a School girl for Superman. The identity thing was never really bought up but like in the comics I'm guessing he would either out himself (like he did a couple years ago) or like in the 90's just say he wasn't dead but out of commission. In the New 52 Lois was the one who outed him to the world, so they could've gone there too. Sorry for the long post

He is superman period, there’s something about him that’s timeless when he’s on screen playing the character it’s almost as if he was born to do it. He’s soo believable playing the character that you actually feel he’s from Krypton for real. The new guy looks great aswell but he just doesn’t have what Henry has and I know a lot of people have been saying but the new guy is 6’4. That a great advantage but for some reason he just doesn’t have the magic that cavill has. It’s like when Heath played the joker in the dark knight it can’t be replicated just because he framed that role to orientate it around him and that’s the same thing with cavill

One of the Best ways to write a modern superman is to follow the blueprint of DBZ Goku. Goku is an alien, But while on earth he learns the values of mercy, compassion and forgiveness, Eventually he becomes a hero and his actions even cause his enemies to change. Vegeta and Piccolo were once enemies now they are on the side of good. Goku is always good and hopeful. But, at the same time he is relatable and funny. If the writting was good, Cavill could have pulled of this kind of superman.

@@sharendavis9216 lol no he doesn't he thought he was lame and boring so he change him up to fit his idea of what Superman is "Jezus" which I will give him credit Snyder did a great job in the action department cause Superman always has boring and chessy fight scenes in live action.

@@venomj8179 Snyder did not invent the Superman Jesus imagery, that's always existed with the character. He did not think we was lame, he wanted to tell a story that didn't just accept that Superman was hopeful, he wanted to explore how and why he became that way.

He had that kind charisma, that I think Superman should have, He Ty was a great Superman, whoever they find to replace him has a large test, just as Henry did, leave it better than you found it, and they did that with Henry as Superman

I said this before when you talked about the amazing Spider-Man movies and I'll say it again here. I never hated the casting in these movies, I hated the story the actors were working off of. Like I agree Cavill is one of the best guys to play Superman in a long time but I didn't care for the story used for him.

I have a great idea for a MOS sequel. It could be named MOT (Man of Tomorrow) and be an open-world action-adventure game that allows players to play as both Clark and Superman, offering two distinct gameplay mechanics, but unified in one entity. Players would need to find a secret location to switch between the two egos to avoid being discovered. Additionally, I have an idea for an open-world Batman game that reimagines the DCEU's Batman after cutting BVS. Instead of using Ben Affleck, I would choose Jim Caviezel as the aging, retired caped crusader. Robin's death haunts him, and even in retirement, he cannot find peace. He cannot escape his guilt and will be angry at the God among men, blaming Superman for his own inability. For gameplay, I hope to have three phases of Gotham City, seamlessly alternating day and night. The three phases represent three acts of the narrative, representing dusk, night, and dawn, like integrating Nolan's trilogy into one entity. The three chapters are: Chapter 1: I'm Vengeance Chapter 2: The Darkest Night Chapter 3: Dawn of Justice And I promise tonight Superman won't fake his death, and Martha won't die. You know what I mean.

BTW I prefer Brainiac as the Ultimate Villain in JL rather than Darkseid. And I wanna a Trilogy of Krypton which just like Dune, a epic Space-Opera and introduce Darkseid here and let Lanterns and Kryptonians kill Darkseid together.

He could have been the perfect Superman. He had the look, the charm, the personality. Unfortunately what he didn't have was a director who actually cared about the character. It's a shame really, so much potential squandered on Snyder's ego.

I don't know where people keep hearing this. I mean from a business stand point, they're not going to announce he's fired until after his movie comes out. Cause that'd be really stupid. Obviously. Don't get me wrong, i hate Miller and can't wait until they finally announce it which im sure they will ( yes i could be wrong, but I highly doubt it) some time after the movie releases

I don't know much about superman's comics/stories other than him being the poster boy for DC for a hundred years, the godfather of all caped hero influences. I'm more interested in Batmans stories. I do know, in terms of physical traits of the man of steel, Henry Cavill is unrivaled in that department
