While we were waiting for dinner to cook tonight, Kasey and I played a bit of Trevor Stuart’s beautiful fiddle tune, Henry King’s Reel (in a weird tuning). Trevor wrote some of my favorite “new” fiddle tunes. He is/was one of my favorite fiddlers. His playing was deeply rooted, supremely tasteful, and profoundly graceful. There's nothing unnecessary in it, and it's not missing anything. It's the best kind of fiddling. If you like fiddle music, it’s worth checking out the Stuart Brothers releases here oldtimetikiparlour.com/produc... and here: stuartbrothers.bandcamp.com/ I think you'll dig their recordings if you haven't heard them.
It's mutated a bit in my hands, but it was fun to play it.
Enjoy. Pardon the foot tap shake up. It's hard not to tap.
