My sister was one of her students for years. Sue and Carmen (her husband) remain close family friends to this day. They are two of the most down to earth/genuine people you could ever be so fortunate to know. Sue still sings and every concert I've been fortunate to attend has been sold out. She is truly one of a kind.

Sue was my voice teacher at Grove School of Music. She was incredible and absolutely mesmerizing. She has a light that is visible when she enters the room or speaks that you just instantly fall in love with her energy.

Just saw Judy Roberts this evening at Marriot Newport Beach and she played Dreamsville. Judy, a pianist/keyboard player/Jazz artist said that she dare not sing "Dreamsville" with Sue Raney in the audience. Judy told the audience to go on KZbin and listen to Sue singing this song. I've been listening to jazz and vocalists for over sixty years and just discovered sue raney recently and just purchased her very first album recorded in 1958 when she was just eighteen years old. Do'nt know how i missed her. Dreamsville is a mancini classic and showcases her pure beautiful voice. She is so understated and elegant in her delivery. Just beautiful!!

There's even a more recent recording of Ms. Raney singing with the Four Freshmen, singing "It Could Happen to You" which is equally beautiful. How sad that she never received the publicity that many of the other leading female singers got. Her voice is just so lovely.

Chaselpaso. I only found this recording two days ago. I have some cassette tapes I downloaded about 15 years ago from the Benny Green record show. What a pure lovely voice, no shouting or strain. How is it possible she has never become a household name ? And the music, Mancini at his most smooth.
