Do you have to clean the comutator when you replace brushes?

Hi JFLR, not sure however it probably makes sense to. in this case the worn out Brushes caused Arcing onto the Commutator, leaving it unclean may will probably take longer for the new Brushes to wear in. Regards.

@@green-crocs-fixes1520 hello, sorry for the late reply but I have brushes on the way for my motor and I will clean the com but what did you use to clean it, is it on of them sponges you use clean things like kitchens

​@@Angrylad.Hi yes I find the green Scotch-Brite pads ideal. The one I am using here is all I could find at the time with Sponge attached, less harsh than Sand Paper. Regards 🤩.
