Henry Purcell - Suite Abdelazer Abdelazer o La venganza del moro data del último año de vida de Purcell (1.659-1.695), y es la música que compuso para la tragedia del mismo nombre de la autora Aphra Behn. Según algunos datos, parece que esta obra teatral fue representada (sin música) en 1676 y pensada para la reapertura del Teatro Drury Lane en abril de 1695 ya con la música de Purcell, en un período que fue dominado por el duelo oficial a la muerte de la Reina María. Abdelazer es una de las Suites más conocidas de Purcell por varias circunstancias: su Obertura es una de las más perfectas de las que escribiera este inglés y, además, la sección del Hornpipe se hizo popular entre los ingleses al ser adoptada como danza campesina en el siglo XVIII (con el título Saint Martin’s Lane). Quizá uno de los factores que han propiciado su fama mundial se debe a que Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) tomó el Rondó de esta Suite y lo convirtió en el tema sobre el cual se desarrollan una serie de interesantes variaciones, conocidas en el ámbito didáctico musical como Guía orquestal para los jóvenes. Aquí os dejo un musicograma para que podáis seguir la estructura de este fragmento y así podáis comprender un poco mejor en qué consiste un rondó. Disfrutad de la fantástica música de Purcell. Abdelazer (también Abdelazar) o La venganza del Páramo es una obra teatral de Aphra Behn, adaptación de la tragedia Lujuria del Dominio de circa 1600. El compositor Henry Purcell escribió música incidental (Z 570) para una producción en el verano de 1695, con movimientos: Ouverture Rondeau Aire Aire Minueto Aire Jig Hornpipe Aire Una canción titulada: "Lucinda es fascinantemente justa" El rondeau (no confundir con el rondó del Siglo XVIII) fue utilizado por Benjamin Britten como tema para su conjunto de variaciones de Guía de orquesta para jóvenes (1946). También fue utilizado como el tema de la serie de televisión The First Churchills (1969), como la canción de introducción para Intellivision de vídeo juego de Thunder Castle (1986), y puede ser escuchado como el baile de la música en el baile de Netherfield en la película Orgullo y Prejuicio. El arreglo de Britten se utiliza como un motivo recurrente en la película Moonrise Kingdom. Además de sus "semi-óperas", Purcell compuso música incidental durante diez veces. Aunque la ópera avanzó lentamente en Inglaterra en el siglo XVII, la música desempeñaba un papel importante en el teatro, y siempre incluía canciones, pero también piezas cortas de orquesta para llamar la atención del público hacia el comienzo del entretenimiento ("primera música" y "música"). segunda música "), marque el cambio de escena entre actos (" act tunes ") y el final de la obra (" cortinas "). Después de la muerte de Purcell, su música Abdalazar, junto con toda su música de teatro, permaneció inédita, pero dos años más tarde apareció en una edición conmemorativa junto con suites seleccionadas de otras obras dramáticas bajo el título Una colección de Ayres, Compos'd for the Theatre, y en otras ocasiones.

The looks the musicians give each other as they're playing is intriguing. Eyes communicating silently. What's this about? Subtle interactions that help them play in synchrony? That's what the conductor is for, but I can't help thinking that glancing at your fellow musician's face and body movements helps you in some way to play together as one. Nonverbal human interaction can be so rich with nuance and it's a beautiful thing to watch when it's happening between musicians during a concert.

4:22 The Rondeau theme is so well known today thanks to Benjamin Britten, the British composer who wrote "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, Op. 34: Variations and Fugue on a theme of Purcell." Anyway, it is somewhat hasty in this interpretation.

Can someone explain to me The piece begins with the Overture, and then begins another piece at 2.22, This piece is labelled the Rondeau, but I was under the impression that the Rondeau is the piece that begins at 4:22??? In fact if you look up Rondeau on KZbin the piece at 4:22 is played is this incorrect or is the piece at 2:22 not the Rondeau but an air?

The overture starts at the very beginning, and the Rondeau begins at 4:22. This is piece of music is specifically a suite, so it has different movements inside of one giant song.
