Pretty much everyone has walked through a dirt parking lot for a show at some point, Kiss concert or not, and his description of what it looks like is dead-on.

Been an Army member since 78’ never be anything like them again! To be concealed by night, & walk amongst us by day in total obscurity is the greatest Rock magic show of all time, Pre Internet, they were able to hide all the family photo’s of themselves to the mags, nobody knew what they looked like with makeup off? Genus! As a 13-14 yr old kid Ace was the guy i wanted to be, everybody tellin me how cool Page was playing guitar, but the firsr time i saw Ace play in that Spaceman outfit on those 7” platform boots i was completely in! He prob isn’t the greatest thing since slice bread or anything but the way he played it made you want a triple pickup Gibson LP! ( No fanboy or nothing) lol…

Was in Major Goulsby's in Milwaukee after a long day at GenCon in the Mid-90s when a Kiss concert let out and poured into the restaurant. It was a thing to behold. Like just unreal. I was in high school. The waitress bought me a beer just for putting up with it.

I've been a member of 3 different Armies. 1st as a Junior Soldier in the Salvation Army until I was kicked out for wearing KISS T shirts and refusing to stop wearing and headbanging to my KISS records so I paid my minimal amount of money to be in the KISS ARMY. Australian Army was 1989.

If you even just kinda like their music and If you make the effort to go to one of their concerts, your, it’s ok opinion will change dramatically. They are world famous for their live shows for decades for a reason. I dare you to not have a good time! They are one of the Classic American party bands. They were the first to go really big with it. No one even came close to them. A reputation that they maintained for an incredibly long, long time.

As a pretty average, typical female I've never really gotten into KISS all that much. I've always been aware of them but they just aren't all that huge in my life compared to the KISS Army. My Rock predilections were and still are artists like Heart, Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, etc. I'm still trying to figure out this KISS army thing and the whole religious aspect of it all. I recall in the 70's because of the makeup and the flashy costumes that the band was like some otherworldly entity to me, but to a four year old everything is magical but my interests were never centralized around KISS. Even in my teens I still didn't see them as very important in my life compared to the female rockers I listened to. Even as a middle aged adult I am still trying to understand this whole fanatical KISS thing and why people are so obsessed with it. I don't look at the stage show as a whole to persuade me to like a band when it comes to my musical preferences, I just listen to the music itself. Yeah, I really love Heart but I don't go nuts over their music to the point of becoming a public embarrassment with my enthusiasm. I just don;t really get the whole KISS Army thing. To me KISS is just another durable Rock act that still has the financial capability to tour, like Heart. Maybe it's just that KISS' music doesn't speak to me personally, I just can't relate to their collection of hits at all like I can with the music of Heart or Pat Benatar. That said I think I'd find it amusing to be at a KISS concert and probably be the only person not getting into the hype and looking rather lost as the fan camera swings around towards me being all confused and confuddled by my surroundings like I don't really belong there.
@fivestring65ify6 жыл бұрын
MonsterHunterRoon It's all hype with no substance. They put on a good show but let's be honest. How big would they be if they didn't wear the makeup? They tried it in the 80s and failed miserably. Then Stanley comes out with a tell all book stating what the average intelligent person already knew. Kiss is like televangilists. They talk a good talk but can't back it up.
@courtneyross78793 жыл бұрын
Well don't torture yourself over it. It's just music. Either you like it, or you don't, like any other band, singer, musician, etc. out their, vying for your loyalty...and money. All good, either way.
