Episode 1: Henry ruins his career. Episode 2: Henry ruins his career. Episode 3: Henry ignores his predicament. Only helping him out in a non-canon easter egg ending. Episode 4: He's still in that cell. Assuming Henry didn't bring down the airship and kill him on impact in episode 3. Episode 5: Dave saves Henry's life. This man is selfless is good. Henry is at the center of everything that has gone wrong in his life, and Dave decides to help him in the timeline where Henry is the shitiest stick man he could possibly be.

The Easter egg isn't essentially non-canon. Well the ending itself is non-canon the steps to do it can be considered Canon, so you could grab the key and free Dave and then not get the non-canon ending.

I remember in Fleeing the Complex we needed Ellie to get in the vent after that we have 2 choices go solo or escape with Ellie. but if you go solo a text box will show saying "Ellie will remember that." so in that version Ellie will want to kill Henry for not helping her to escape with him

My interpretation of it, and I've expanded on this in my own writing, is that the Toppat Clan probably has a succession process that can be invoked either peacefully or non-peacefully. It basically comes down to two ways: - The previous Leader of the Toppat Clan has an _heir,_ a person of notable influence in the clan who's fit to take over in the event the current Leader is no longer able to do so. In Reginald's case, if he ends up arrested in the *Relentless Bounty Hunter* Ending, Right Hand Man takes over. In the event _both_ of them are arrested, like in *Government Sponsored Private Investigator,* then Sven Svensson assumes leadership. Both cases are shown in Completing the Mission. This is an example of a peaceful transition. Or; - The alternative comes when someone takes control of leadership in a coup. This is basically what happens when Henry first takes over the Toppats. If you're gonna argue why Ellie takes control, you also need to ask why the clan let Reginald just step down in favor of Henry. And, more than that, if you read the various bios in the game you learn that Reginald assumed leadership in almost the same way Henry did to him. The previous leader, Terrence Suave, was so incompetent that the Toppat Clan basically let Reginald become the new leader, and overthrew him. You know how Reggie always wears _two_ top hats whenever he's leader? The hat with the gold chain used to belong to Terrence Suave, and then Reggie gives that hat to Henry after he steps down. This tells me that, under the right circumstances, the Clan will let somebody low-rank, or even not part of the Toppats, take over if they prove strong enough. If you think about it like that, it sorta makes sense then how Ellie takes over. Reginald and RHM are _dead_ at the end of *Toppat Civil Warfare* pathway. So yeah, neither of them are taking over in that case... Meanwhile, Ellie was the one to accuse Henry, and technically was the one who _threw him_ off the airship. She essentially did the same thing Henry did at the end of *Rapidly Promoted Executive* and took over the whole thing. I mean, she's basically as skilled as Henry. If she escaped from The Wall and followed Henry stealthily all the way back to the airship, she's got some serious skills, everyone can see! And the fact that she shows _no mercy_ when you're on the plank shows everyone that she's got the guts for the job, too. Now, I'm not saying that this pathway was the most satisfying, but if you just think about it for a little bit then you can parcel out a decent narrative.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Charlie won't die if you steal the ruby (which is how to get the cell key) and you can still befriend Ellie. After that, can get the Pardoned Pals end.

@@BestBowserFan4 Basically, in "fleeing the complex," there is a choice where you can ask Ellie to throw you up to a vent, which there is a piece of rock in there to break the handcuffs off your hands. Once you've done that, there is gonna be a choice to either leave Ellie behind or save her and she'll come with you to get out of the complex. If you chose to leave her behind, she will remember what you did (Telltale reference). When you get the ending from this series of choices, you then combine it with the ending from "infiltrating the airship," which you chose to work for the Toppat clan and get promoted to leader pretty quickly instead of handing over the current leader to the Military. Once you combined both of the endings, it sets the scene where Ellie has somehow broke out of the complex and then followed you all the way back to the airship, which she then told everyone in the same room as you that you left her behind, causing all of your henchmen to turn their backs on you. It then lead to the previous Toppat leader to become leader again, which also lead to Ellie suggesting that they kill you. This caused you to throw the current Toppat leader of the airship, alongside the Right-hand man to jump after him to save him from falling to his death, since he has a cybernetic jetpack booster. This then leads to you saving three other prisoners, who are on your side, from their cells and then all getting in a airpod to get off the airship. As the airpod is falling towards the ground, it crashes into the Right-hand man carrying the leader back to the airship, killing both of them in the process, and then finally landing on the ground. You and your three henchmen decided to start a civil war against Ellie, who became the new leader of the clan since you killed the previous one with the airpod, and her army of henchmen in order to reclaim your title back in the clan.

That's why I say: THANK YOU DAVE, without you, Henry Stickmin not an iconic and popular character, you helped and A LOT (I know you are in the comments of this video). Henry Stickmin and Dave Danpa together = Karma and the Law Cause and Effect of the Universe. Much explanation is not needed in this because it is well understood how both "suffered" the actions, acts and causes of each other; When you see each part of each of Henry Stickmin's games, you can see this exchange of reciprocal connections, although it is not very noticeable, especially at the beginning. By the way, this smells like a story very similar to Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure or Berserk, I don't know, it's very similar...

I think Dave tried to join the Toppat Clan due to the fact he can’t keep a stable job without getting fired. But when the clan found out he has no criminal history, they rejected him and kept him in a cell so he wouldn’t tell others about what he saw. I’m surprised Henry never released him when he became the leader, but I guess for the safety of the clan he had to keep him locked up until he really needed him.
