I think a massive thing people dont seem to bring up when talking about Kawhi is how much the Spurs turned him into the player he is. He didnt have a good shot entering the league and was seen as a very good defender but a non factor on offence. That was until he landed with the Spurs and Chip Engelland was able to mold Kawhi. Now theres no guarantee Kawhi wouldnt be a superstar if he was drafted by another team but it is a very important thing to mention.

Is that what he did with the Spurs? The Spurs are one of the most well ran and we'll respected front offices of all time. Kawhi got his feelings hurt and then acted like a bitch baby and cried and refused to play for them until they traded him. Idk, maybe it's just me. But being quiet doesn't make someone likeable. @Sonny Kelevra it beats it because the heat losing 3-2 ... game 6 of the FINALS, down by 3, and it wasnt a catch and shoot 3....rebound bosh, throws to Ray who literally back pedals without looking at his feet to get behind the 3 point line and not step out of bounds and then just rips it while they were already bringing out the trophy for the spurs and locking down the court for celebration. Kawhi is a great example of an unselfish on court player who devotes energy to both sides of the floor and leads by example. He is also the poster child for the NBA needing to tighten up the expectation end of player's contracts. The NFL goes too far and can basically erase a player's salary for on the job injury and when they draft a young baller who can step in at a cheaper price. The NBA gives guys like Ben Simmons the space to decide if they want to show up, give effort, or work within a team concept. Kawhi wants us to believe a player near or over 30 should be able to slow roll the first half of a season then crank it up after all-star and put in 50 games. This needs to be addressed asap
@meh7348
@meh7348 Жыл бұрын
All that matters is playoffs/finals and winning a ring, in an 82 game season where being 500 is usually enough to make the post season you can't blame em. I don't even really start paying attention till the second half of the season when things start to actually matter. I'd rather have my teams stars take it easy till things matter and be as healthy as possible for a play off run 🤷‍♂️ Shorten the season a bit or add financial incentives for regular season performance as all the big money teams make is made in the post season.

@@meh7348 Take it easy? Is there a participation ribbon round this year? Fans pay to see stars. Advertisers pay to see stars. Stars grinding it out produces wins. There needs to be financial consequences to 'but I want a day off' guys. Want to sit? Cool. Deduction. Not making this road trip after being cleared to play? Cool. Deduction. You know... like they were actually AT WORK
@GlitchTheLitch
@GlitchTheLitch Жыл бұрын
@I am Groot! It's never been the case that Kawhi sits out because he wants a "day off", that's misinformation. The teams and organizations are the ones making those decisions in the 1st place based on what they know. His chronic knee condition worsens with overuse, which is exactly why he's held out of b2b games.
@I.am_Groot
@I.am_Groot Жыл бұрын
@@GlitchTheLitch Lol....if you think the Clippers are telling Kawhi and not the other way around you have not been paying attention. Fifty games is the mark he looks to hit this season. There were not 20 b2b situations that he sat out for the guy wants to be a part time player. John Stockton played until he was 40 and did drop his minutes later on but the last 2 seasons started 82 games each. But I guess he didn't have any lingering issues lol
@RoboticV
@RoboticV Жыл бұрын
@@I.am_Groot Kawhi has left knee tendinopathy. Basically, your tendon can become inflamed when overused which can be very painful. The Clippers organization is well aware of this. Whether he personally sits out or the organization makes him doesn't matter. Either way he still has a disorder that needs to be maintained.

Honestly as one of the biggest (reasonable) kawhi fans, he does sit out too much. It's not just him or just the organization. Anyone who's on one extreme side or the other is close-minded. He does take off too many games, but at the same time you see his production at the end of the day in the playoffs. And although fans pay to see players and spend a lot of money to go to games, as an fan of an nba team a championship should be the number one top priority. I don't know if that will happen with the clippers. If it's not the celtics then I hope it's the clippers. But I don't know. That being said games need to be taken off after I season long injury. Klay is a perfect example. But yes he does sit out too much and I hate that when people think of kawhi that's what they think of
@KevinDurantBurnerAccount
@KevinDurantBurnerAccount Жыл бұрын
I understand Kawhi resting and it’s smart. But as a fan it’s unfair for fans that come out to see him play just for him to sit. These are the same fans that are giving this man a job. I feel like the nba should look elsewhere from load managing.the nba should give players that need load managing minutes restrictions rather than entire games off. This will keep the players fresh for the playoffs and us the fans happy.

@@henrylam92 I’m a fan of the game. I mean if you like the NBA players to constantly spit in our face sure. The next time you go to an NBA game all I hope your favorite players all decide to take a rest day just you can feel the same pain. It’s so fair to the fans that pay to see their favorite player to not even suit up. You don’t know how selfish that sounds? Imagine a working class parent taking their kid going to an NBA game just for them to not even play. You sound ridiculous to me. What would happen to your job if you don’t your boss you’re not coming to work because you need to load manage. You’re gonna get fired on the spot. If you’re healthy you play period. I don’t know what it is with this soft and entitled generation. NBA players don’t play for fun they play because it’s their job. If they’re healthy they should play if they can’t play or because their health is too much of an issue then they should retire or switch to a job that’s less demanding. In plus Kawhi is making 30+ mil a year. If players can’t even play 10-20 minutes when healthy they shouldn’t be playing the game at all. They owe it to the game, to the fans, their opponents, and most importantly they owe it to their team and organization. These players are professionals. They need to start acting like it otherwise it’s going to ruin the game like how it has been doing.

If he didn’t get drafted by the spurs he wouldn’t be what he is today. His rookie year was pretty bad, but just got way better every year.

Kyrie was the perfect pick , even at hindsight. With LeBron coming back they basically had a 4 year run that is franchise's whole history tbh😅. With kawhi they most likely wouldn't have a ring today

“If you guys will have me back, I plan on resigning next year” How do you hear that and think “Kyrie has promised to stay here the rest of his career” Bro had a down season after being injured for ages, Boston fans scrutinised him for it and then say he betrayed them by leaving when they didn’t want him to resign in the first place? That doesn’t make sense.
