Very thorough video cutting to the chase. the comparison of the way the light panel light hit the x100v sold it for me for the Tiffen. Thanks again (2 years after you posted)!

k&f magnetic filters can stack, as long as they are k&f magnetic specified. k&f in fact sells a set of them with CP and ND filters on top of the magnetic screw threaded base.
@MrRay6452 ай бұрын
not sure if they changed the magnet strength or you got a bad one but I have 2 sets a small 67mm set (nd8, nd64, nd1000, CPL, clear, and cap) for my medium format and the same set in 77mm set with step up/down ring for everything else. I can stack a whole kit with the cap on and they wont fall off.
@sooo0kie2 ай бұрын
It might be depends on the filter size, the 49mm magnetic black defusion filter attract to the ring and doesn't easy fall off in my case.

So the 1/8 K&F is probably closest to the 1/4 Tiffen Black Pro Mist.
@rafsnchz11 ай бұрын
Funny enough I have K&F mist 1 and 1/8. I like strength 1 but only when it's appropriate, 1/8 however is always on, it gives a nice subtle effect as well as protects the lens.
@stuartallenphotos11 ай бұрын
I have seen another comparison test done in a similar way to this under controlled lighting and on a tripod. In that the Tiffen was stronger but interestingly the 1/8 came out stronger than the 1/4 which would suggest Tiffen either a quality control issue or a batch of their filters were incorrectly labelled.

So is the takeaway that the magnetic filters do not stack, but the screw on filters can thread with other K&F concept VNDs?

Yo bro. thanks ... may I ask.. if you use the screw version could you still use ND filter on it? Becos shooting outside, you may definitely need an ND filter. I was wondering.

Very nice and informative video, and some familiar sights as I also live in Vancouver. Totally agree with your take regarding modern digital images being too clinical looking. I am about to buy my second 1/4 K&F black diffusion (I also have the Tiffen) and wanted to confirm my own impressions. Just curious, have tried the new Neewar black diffusers? These are ridiculously inexpensive but I’m being cautious and will probably stick with the K&F. Thanks!
@AndrewCottierMedia Жыл бұрын
Hey there. I originally got the neewer diffusion filter at the 1/8 strength but at that price point for the lowest level it was basically non-existed unless pointed towards a direct light sauce, not sure about the 1/4 onwards though. It didn't keep much of the contrast either. Good for the price but the quality definitely reflects on the price too. I'm considering a k&f 1/4 though. Would you recommend?

Wish I saw your review before, super glue it is. Thanks for your perspectives! What circular polarizer do you recommend, best bang for $ ?
@henrymediagroup2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for supporting the video! Please use the super glue to glue the K&F Concept mist filter at your own risk because there will be a possibility of damaging the filter or your lens, and we do not want that to happen to your gear. We used super glue purely for our test. We usually use the variable ND filter from Polar Pro instead of just using circular polarizer. Hope it helps!
@vishal_trivedi2 жыл бұрын
@@henrymediagroup oh thank you for your quick reply! And would those polar pro filters help for cutting glare? I’m looking for something that can see through a car’s windshield. Cut glare from water, that sort of thing :)
@henrymediagroup2 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome! If you are looking for just cutting glare from water or car windshield, it is better to use just circular polarizer because variable ND filters will darken the image and introduce other unwanted effects. Hope it helps!
@vishal_trivedi2 жыл бұрын
@@henrymediagroup yes I know, haha that is why I initially asked if you knew of any well priced brands for a circular polarizing? I don’t need VND. I’m all set there :) thanks again!
