I really like the insights into mood and attitude that you have highlighted in some of your recent videos. I have only recently got over these anxieties and just enjoy the hike or walk, stopping to take photos on the way. I don’t care how good or bad my pics are or how good a photographer I might be. Getting out there taking photographs, editing them and printing out my favourites makes me happy and that’s all that matters. Great pics from you and Adam, must subscribe to his channel.

Sound advice and epic images as always. There have been some epic sunrises / sunsets here recently and not been able to get out due to work etc and for a while I was thinking that I had missed out. However, thinking about more about this, I realised that there have been epic conditions many times before I started spending more time on my photography and there will be many more times in the future, when I will be in a better position to get out there myself. I think that the moral is that don't get too hung up about missing the opportunity, because there will always be another time in the future. Plus, who knows the conditions may be even better! Keep up the good work!

Oh man, this hits home for me in a very real way. It seems like every workday, the conditions are perfect (photographically) and every non-work day, the conditions are crap (photographically). It's a constant battle to be honest, to stay positive and motivated to keep going out with a camera.

So true Henry. It's so easy to get sucked into FOMO. going to social media and seeing 10 great photos a day - and forgetting that these 10 come from 300 ppl one follows and not from ONE other pal.

Swings and roundabouts Henry, there are many times I see photographers that I follow and think you lucky, lucky people to be where you are witnessing such things and getting the images you do but there other times when I’m out and I think “I bet Henry wishes he was here now” 😂 I have images on my bucket list and get a little envious when I see others getting them but my time will come and it’s what spurs me on. Above all be happy in what you are doing and be inspired by others, not intimidated 😉👍

I have to say that your photography is full of emotions which I feel is normal. We all like to take good photo's but you may find it harder as it is your living so good pics are important, so failure is not an option. Like a couple of the other write ups I take photos for me and so have only myself so that is who I compare myself to in the hope that I get better. I have recently been to Norway to chase the northern lights and we found them. I am really pleased with the photos but I know other people have taken better one's but I'm happy with mine that's what is important. I look forward to your future videos as I've been following you for quite a long time and enjoy your work.

Your advice really speaks to me. Nowhere near your standard but definitely get intimidated by other photographers' work and always think that I'll never be that good, or beat myself up cos I don't get out often enough. I don't cope well with cold weather so it's worse in winter. Harder is the thought that the spectacular scenery isnt available near where Iive. Can you really get more than a record shot in mediocre scenery. Am I just not seeing the potential?

Great video as alway Henry, saw Adams version last week, some wonderful images from the two of you. I agree to a degree with your missing out position, because I follow lots of photography pages, and photographers, and when I see a certain shot or place there is an element of missing out, but I learned quickly that we cannot be everywhere all of the time, so it's a shrug of the shoulders a deep sigh, and move on in the knowledge that my time will come, I never have a feeling of being inadequate, because every day is a learning day

Cheers Henry, it’s Sean in Atlanta! Brother, I am jealous that you guys have had so much beautiful snowfall this season! Yesterday here in Atlanta around 3 am, they said we would have a little snow for about 30 minutes! Not a bloody flake! Figures! It is amazing to me that you are now hanging out with the photographers that I have followed for the last seven or eight years! I used to wonder if you all knew each other, and I am very happy that you are creating this kind of support group of all these excellent photographers that you can take trips with and share ideas with, etc. You know how much I admire your skill as a photographer and this video does not disappoint! I only wish that I could experience one day that looks like that winter wonderland you guys are enjoying! Believe me, I’m just glad it’s not summer because summer in Atlanta is like dying and going to the wrong place! And I don’t want to practice for that! Henry I love your videos and your enthusiasm and depth. You remind me of a modern day Bob Ross. I noticed you have the valleret gloves on here in the snow, the tinden model? I have been considering getting these as I love photographing in windy, snowy conditions, but the lack of waterproofing scares me. Do you find that to be an issue? What temperature would you say they keep you warm down to? Also, what is the trapper hat I see you wearing in your videos? I've been looking for one but can't seem to find a good one. Thanks for your time and keep up the passionate photography

All good stuff on FOMO. My way of dealing with it is swings and roundabouts. Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes you are the nail. I definitely suffer from FOMO with having a full time software developer job. There is a guy who goes out every morning before work, and by morning I mean 3 am for city shots. He does it in any weather and I just don't know I can do that every day and I always feel bad when I miss good light because I am stuck working at 8:30 am.

I like looking at others photography which I use as inspiration. Sometimes though, I do get a bit envious of what I see and have to remind myself not to get too caught up in what I perceive as "better" photography than mine and to do my own thing. I think it may have to do with the fact that you're almost always looking at someone's best work while you have to look at not only your own best but worst images as well. You have to remind yourself that they take lots for crappy photos as well. I have a question as well. I see you and many others shooting in very wet conditions. Something that is rare for me. I don't mind if my camera gets a little wet but I don't know that I would be comfortable letting my setup getting as wet as you seem to at times. Sure, the cameras and lenses are weather sealed but do you do anything special to ensure your gear gets dried out beyond just wiping it down? Thanks.
