Gotta love the pure German over-complicatedness. Hahaha. But damn that thing is amazing, I don’t think I’d have the balls to fly a 1 of 65 machine haha it would become a conversation piece for me I think.

It is definitely a German over complicatedness, but they did some things that nobody else did on this design. It’s a massive pain to work on as well! It’s nerve-racking, flying a 1 of 65 ever built helicopter, but I do it for your enjoyment!

5:15 The helicopter will autorotate, you just won't have tail rotor control. But as you're autorotating there is no engine torque to worry about anyway. This is just like older X-Cells and Hirobo Shuttles, both of which I auto'd all the time.

Yes, you can technically auto but I would not do it. I would on any other heli just not this one lol

@westhobbiesrc8051 I found 'back in the old days' that having the centre of gravity just in front of the mast will help keep direction control while auto-ing without the tail rotor. As you bank the nose will turn into the turn, whereas a c/g behind the mast the nose will turn the opposite direction to the turn. Ya gota be crafty without the tail rotor. 🙂🇦🇺

@@johno9507 Back in the day of non-driven tail autorotation, helis would have big horizontal and vertical tail feathers allowing the heli's tail to "weathervane" in the direction of flight, so, tail control was not at all a necessity. Nowadays with 3D style tail feathers, (full of holes), or none at all, we definitely need the driven tail. There's another drawback of the driven tail, which is why the creator of the Henseleit omitted it - it robs an enormous amount of inertia from the main rotor during an autorotation, shortening the time you have to bring it home, and effectively lowering the chances of a successful save.

not having any tail rotor authority would make this a super sketchy proposition. When you pull pitch at the end it very easily could have enough torque to kick the tail. With the price and rarity of this model, I wouldnt do it.

Best flying brand hands down. I learned to fly on henseleit and jr helis. Something about henseleit that will never be matched. It sucks henseleit, minicopter, thunder tiger and jr are gone

They definitely made some fantastic helicopters and they had some crazy idea. It does suck they are done but luckily they will make parts for a little while so that’s good.

​@@westhobbiesrc8051We have an old fella from our club who likes building scale helis. He spent thousands $$$ and work hours on them. Complete with ESC, Gyro, electronics, etc set up ready to fly. But he only use them as a shelf queen. Super weird
