If anyone is curious. Uppercase Sigma (Σ) is used in general mathematics for summation as the "sigma notation", you would see this a lot in the derivation of formulas, especially when using Calculus. Lowercase Sigma (σ) is typically used for standard deviation in statistics. There are other stuff, but those are the most common (already taught in high school) and "useful". Basically just an eternal struggle between fields of study, which is a nightmare to navigate when you simultaneously have two different subjects. The physicists have a pretty unified and cordial system, why can't engineers have this luxury? Don't even get me started with unit systems. Screw the FPS system, also 1 mile=5280 feet? (wtf bro).
