Wait, gets even better. Zeus *chased her down,* even as she ran away as a horse, and *raped her.* Thus resulting in Persephone. Zeus believed he had parental rights to Persephone, so he *married her off to his brother.* (Demeter was very quick to make the point N O H E D I D N’ T.) And yeah, Hera’s Zeus’ sister too. You’d think he had some sort of thing, but then he runs out on her all the time. Almost like the point of a relationship with a woman to him is solely to *exert his power over them.*

@@Norinia Yeah I know that, I meant that in the game Hades and Hades 2 they changed their origins a bit which is why the original comment said Supergiants's version as the lore they made for the Greek myth is completely different here like what I said above most of them are no longer related Demeter is stated to be unrelated to the big 3 is from "Older" titan stock according to the games version even with Persephone whose father is apparently a Mortal in Hades 1 and 2 whose name was never given

I saw in an interview time ago, that they see the gods as this beautiful concepts, that's why all of them are beautiful in some way, so I guess that the "ugliness" of Hephaestus has to be re imagined.

I feel as though I should mention that in some interpretations, Hephaestus became lame after *Zeus* threw him off Olympus, ironically for trying to protect his mother Hera during one of their arguments. The more common version is that Hephaestus was born with a disability and Hera threw him off the mountain in disgust. I'm not sure which one Supergiant is following, but I personally think the first is more interesting family-dynamic wise, and makes for better storylines.

He's in a wheelchair and has a prosthetic leg they really went all out on the "crippled" part of his myth I'm not gonna say it's the best depiction I've ever seen (him having massive muscles on his arms is how I commonly imagine him since he is a blacksmith) but I don't hate it either his accent makes him kinda funny though

You'd think, but actual blacksmiths don't necessarily have bulging biceps, and a lot of the strongest powerlifters just look chubby. The whole "big muscles" thing is more a function of low bodyfat percentage and (to a lesser extent) dehydration. The real defining traits of a good blacksmith are a sharp eye for metal temps/colors, endurance, and brutal grip-strength.
