Every athlete has different strengths,which makes it so dynamic thrilling ! Thank you guys, I would have never thought to ever see a 70 minute video of one day of a multi-discipline competition ! This is a dream come true to athletics-fans. Please continue on this path with this channel !!

Exactly!! You also never know who will be absolutely in the zone and who will be slightly off. It can change in a heartbeat- either from a “No height” to a huge personal best. I have always found the multi events to be the most scintillating of all track and field competitions.

You could tell Johnson-Thompson was very unprepared for 1.98. She was jumping into the bar. When I first attempted 6'10" I did the same thing as I wasn't used to having to jump so high. I had to change my technique to focus on just going up and letting my momentum carry me over.

Female shot putters very often struggle with the necessary movement / synchronisation, even though it's relatively an easy / simple technique in sporting terms. There are of course several reasons for this, not only panic in facing the opposite direction / subsequent premature release of core strength / uncoiling. Consequently what little power they release amounts to a straightforward arm push instead a release of held back massive back / core strength. I have studied athletes' movement for over fifty years and I see clear parallels in javelin throwing, and the far more difficult technique of driving a golf ball. None of this surprises me, indeed it is to be expected, but what does surprise is athletes' slow failure to improve their technique. This has its causes particularly with top flight sports competitors as the higher they rise they often become less maleable - declaring to their coaches 'I must be doing OK as look where I'm at!' I suspect that with multi-event athletes they also play the card of 'I've got a lot other events to practice too, so your request to endlessly drill me for hours just isn't reasonable!' That aside I do see some potential shot putt training aids:- 1. Practicing blindfolded on perfectly flat ground without a stop board. 2. A torso core restraint designed to facilitate moving forward with ease but providing core release tension. Apologies for such a long advice note but I'm tired of watching beginners' mistakes in world class athletes for far too many years.

What’s up with the athlete in lane 8 in her blocks at 4:38 ! She’s like 10cm further back from the starting line instead of on the line ! That’s pretty odd! No wonder she was left way back in the race !
@victoriaanestik27114 жыл бұрын
Its most probably because if she started on the line then she would get too close to the first hurdle. I did it at my national competition. She probably dosent care if she gets left behind cuz she wants to get the best time she is capable of and if she has good spacing for the first hurdle she will go faster. Its not that odd if u think about it 👍

“The rules are a little fairer.” No idiot, the rules are oriented around multi event athletes who aren’t necessarily sprinting specialists. What a stupid thing to say by the commentator. That false start rule exists because of the athletes themselves.
@paulf94876 ай бұрын
The change was made because event organisers were frustrated at how long some races took to get started under the old 2 false start per athlete rule. Personally I preferred it and thought it was fairer.

The false start rules are not being applied evenly for all events. If you false start it should be an automatic disqualification like all the other events. You're competing for a single gold medal. Disqualifying the single event athletes hurts them way more than giving the multi event athletes a false start and allowing them to continue. Think of Usain Bolt at Worlds. He was going for a gold medal like the multi event athletes yet he got no leeway.
@landyncb87514 жыл бұрын

Wrong. Usain being DQ’d for the 100m doesn’t DQ him from his other events. He can still get gold in his other 2 events, the 200m and 4x100m. The women’s heptathlon is they have to do 7 events to chase the single gold... it is pretty fair actually
