As a woman from Poland, I will say this: somehow, a feminist is not bothered by the sexualization of women in the music or film entertainment industry. So why should the gaming industry be omitted? Why can't games sell sex like others do? Because games are better? Because no actress there is traumatized for the rest of her life? Because there is no Diddy who will use his slaves with very strange contracts? What about the social media industry? Somehow, no feminists will be bothered by sites like onlyfans? Oh how lovely that those who profit the most from objectifying us for AGES are so concerned about our "safety". How lucky we are now... Don't decide for us because you will have no influence on our tastes.

I think, from the skewed feminist perspective, the difference is that a woman who sexualizes herself in the entertainment industry is choosing to put herself out there to make money and empower herself (nevermind the pressure the industry puts on women to do so), whereas a drawn, rendered or otherwise fictional woman is being created that way, as a sex object by a man, no real woman is empowering herself, and it is therefore misogyny and dangerous. One is, in their mind, purely something a woman chooses for herself (they make similar arguments about sex work, including OnlyFans), and one is something being done by a man. Not a good reflection of reality, but I'm guessing the logic looks something like that in their heads.

The point about women belittling other women is something I witnessed myself in highschool. Our friend group was all male and we only had one girl hang out with us. She rarely talked and her fashion was more eccentric than the rest of the girls (which made her fit well with us because we were the "weird kids"). I remember hearing girls call her names, Insult how she dressed, and called her a pick me for hanging out with us. She eventually stopped dressing how she did and stopped hanging out with us. I wonder how she's doing now.

Most men are happy just having a woman, any woman, by their side. Obviously, appearance matters, you cannot get into a relationship or even a one night stand with someone that you don't find attractive (I tried) but there is a difference between real life and video games fantasy. I like big breasts but I never chose any of my girlfriends by this criteria. When I play a video game, however, I always select the biggest option possible when it comes to breasts. It is just fantasy, it is only fun, it is not what I expect to find in real life. I don't pressure women to get implants or belittle them for not adhering to my fantasies. While some people are very self-conscious about their looks, I don't think that attacking a video game is going to do them any good.

Didn't something like this happen for a movie where people where going to showings dressed as clowns and the media prefaced a call out there there would be violence at the theaters as if trying to temp and will such things to happen? And then nothing happened? This feels like these people are desperate to see ill causality occur just to validate their emotional opinions. Or to have clout to say 'SEE I WAS RIGHT!'

Let me be honest. I played the demo and will buy the game. It is a good game (so far) and the mechanics of the parry and dodge are top tier. With that said..It is nice to occasionally view some of the animations and poses (example: the poses she strikes when she traverses down a ladder...that is sexy, no lie) as it allows someone to take a moment to appreciate the beautiful feminine form. And with that said, I do not feel aroused nor have lost control of my "urges" while appreciating the character design (and by extension, the person that was the real-life model of the character)

Ok I can't say all of what we used to do because it probably sounds inappropriate but I SWEAR we had that close relationship that it didn't matter and she gave consent.

the pixels making up the fictional woman can't talk back, so obviously its easier (and safer) to complain about that. they basically take on the role of lawyer, speaking on behalf of these pixels as if they were representing an actual client or worse; themselves/women in general. who said the pixels want you to talk for them? maybe the pixels like being sexy, we'll never know because _THEY AREN'T ALIVE_ and thus cannot speak for themselves. this shit was old in 2012 and the fact its still going on is a sign of the end times.

Watching a few gameplays of it on this video and past ones too, still giving me some Final Fantasy vibes. Looks interesting but need a PS5 to play it. I don't know why this game is getting some issues because of what the main character's apperences is. It's just a video game. Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.

Huuuuuuh, this a "full circle" I never thought I'd see from this.... This reaction while reminiscent of that era and others.... the opinion driving the reaction is based in a completely different set of ideals. Greed and Control? Yes and No. The reason why I say No is because the reaction isnt based on making and milking money along with the sexualization of the female body being too much. The basis for the head of IGN France spouting this nonsense is because they think this kind of representation of women is how in their own minds think their ideological opponents think women should be, thus should be rabidly opposed for just that reason. This is nonsense already, but to make matter worse this opinion is also fueled because they think being at the head of large section of a international company that has high visibility in gaming, means their opinion should be law.

Politics - social or otherwise - ruins everything. You can't have a "fun" video game anymore unless it fits an accepted narrative, or either it's so milquetoast because studios fear offending the vocal minority that it isn't even fun to begin with. Oh, and need I mention the half-assery from studios releasing buggy games?

To be fair, on the comment from that French editor... The comments he made about women being literally hurt or beaten or whatever also comes from a stock playbook. I feel like I've heard this line of argument, almost exactly, from a friend who is also all in on this. Perhaps he's just parroting phrases (in French) rather than actually projecting. ...Or maybe it is just projecting. The allies do have a bad track record on this front...

Love you Alteori! Thanks for always providing a (humorous) voice of reason from a female point of view. Play the demo, it's f'n fantastic. Some have described it as a mix of Dark Soul's and Devil May Cry and I'd agree. I've always felt the Dead Or Alive games had the best fighting engine and graphics. The only people who will hate on others for playing Stellar Blade (my girlfriend can't wait to play it) are insecure gremlins who have low self esteem and want to control others-usually an indication of narcissistic personality disorder. Avoid anyone who tells you what you can watch, read, write, or play. They're toxic and hypocrites.

I actually read shojo manga as a man because i am a person interested in Romance in both the culturally concept as the philosophical concept (the reason i hike or go on a stroll through the middle age town parts of my city over here in germany). and yes all the guys (besides my fav shojo manga) are good looking, and sometimes like the one shojo isekai i read the guy the girl gets is powerful aswell (in that case the chief knight), but besides that i see it more often that the guy is kind, providing, knows when to step up, and more lets say emotionly driven or rather Vulnarable in her presence all of this gives me more hope to find the one someday, since i like following the knight ideal
