Spiritual elitism is a real thing so I see where Jess is coming from. If he's meditating and his attitude towards her changes to the point where it's affecting their relationship and he doesn't have time to contribute anything, that could be annoying. If he's just clearing his mind and relaxing while still being a supportive partner to her, I'm not sure what the problem is.
